Are you ready to find your purrfect reading buddy — a furry new member of the family? The library has partnered with the Cedar Bend Humane Society to host a live cat adoption event. Adults and families serious about adopting may complete a pre-adoption application* in advance or on the day of the event, drop by the library between 2 and 3:15, fall in love, and take your new cat home.

Pre-Application Details:
*On the form, write “Library Event” in the Animal of Interest section.
Printable Pre-Adoption Form-Turn in at Cedar Bend or at the library
Online Pre-Adoption Form -$10 online processing fee

Are you ready to find your purrfect reading buddy — a furry new member of the family? Tomorrow is the day! Drop by the library between 2 and 3:15, fall in love, and take your new cat home. You'll need to complete an application form before meeting the cats. You can do that tomorrow, or you can send in an application today.

Using ingredients you would be able to find at the upcoming farmer's market, Chef Zach from The Spire will demonstrate cooking one to three family-friendly dishes. This program is open to folks of all ages and may include audience participation. Recipes cards of dish(es) showcased will be available for folks to take home with them so they can attend the Saturday morning Cedar Falls Farmer's Market and recreate the dish(es) for themselves!

Some samples of the dishes may be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and seating at the demonstration may be limited. Doors will open at 5:45pm.

Registration is encouraged to help us anticipate numbers, but registration does not guarantee a spot in the room.

Lit Lounge is a private, adults-only event series focused on meaningful conversation, hands-on workshops, and social connection. Sessions will feature guided group activities, time for relaxed networking in a respectful, age-gated environment for adults to enjoy outside of the 9-5 workday schedule.
