Effective Monday, Dec. 29, the National Weather Service has issued a **🚩🚩RED FLAG WARNING 🚩🚩** for some North Carolina counties. Review weather alerts for North Carolina at weather.gov.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire behavior.

Fire danger will be elevated, especially across central North Carolina. While open burning is permitted during a red flag, it is NOT advised. Please postpone all outdoor burning.

Cedar Grove Fire Department will be auctioning off a former brush truck this Saturday, May 10th. The auction will be held at 720 Hawkins Rd, Cedar Grove, NC and will begin promptly at 10am. The truck was replaced with a newer model and specs are listed below:
1986 Ford F350 4x4
15,050 miles
351 Engine
4 speed

Cedar Grove Fire Department will be doing some Live Fire Training tomorrow on Hester Rd. There will be smoke in the area until around lunchtime.

Donations may be brought to Cedar Grove Fire Department at 720 Hawkins Rd from 8-4 M-F until the end of October.

The weather is starting to change, and in order to further support communities in Western NC, Eno FD is collecting donations of coats (and other winter clothing) of all sizes now through the end of October. Donations can be dropped off at Eno Station 1 at 5019 US 70W, Durham.

Don’t live near Eno? You can still donate! New Hope, Orange Rural, White Cross, Cedar Grove and Orange Grove Fire Departments are all also accepting donations until the end of October.

On 2/20/24, the NC Forestry Service is burning 40 acres in the area of Walnut Grove Ch Rd and Jimmy Ed Rd in the Cedar Grove fire district. Smoke is drifting in that area and will probably last into the night.
