You might as well turn this sucker off!
all the fire departments in the county need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.
This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.
We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?
Every fire department across the country needs help.

Neighbors, I want to brag on these guys right here. They embody the definition of "service." Yesterday, they were called out twice. Tonight they participated in their monthly training, then had their monthly meeting, and then began work to gear up for the annual benefit this weekend. The benefit is to raise money so these guys can continue to support us!

We are so fortunate to have our volunteer firefighters here in Henderson County. They are not the kind to seek recognition, but they certainly deserve it. ❤️

Looks like a lot of things were going good for these guys. Fast hose stretch, air packs on and ready to go and a good safe first approach followed By closer hit for the garage ceiling . Also had an entry team going by the time the garage was mostly knocked down.

The Moderate Risk for severe storms has been extended south into the northern portions of the Mid-South for this afternoon and tonight. All severe weather hazards are at play and storm mode will be of the discrete variety. We will send a more in-depth briefing later this morning.
