It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating our incredible staff—and now we’re standing beside the Class of 2026 as they make life-changing decisions about their future.

Birthday behavior this Spring Break 🎉💪🏾

Today we celebrated life the best way we knew how… in the gym! From resistance bands to weights, we showed up, pushed through, and reminded ourselves that restoration is a journey—mind, body, and spirit.

This season of my life is about healing inside and out. Not rushing the process, but honoring every step. Every rep. Every drop of sweat. Every moment of choosing growth over comfort.

I’m grateful for the sisterhood, the laughter, and the strength we’re building together. Birthdays used to mean cake and candles… now they also mean commitment, restoration, and showing up for the life I’m still becoming.

Here’s to stronger bodies, healed hearts, and a future that looks brighter than ever. 💜✨

📚🎉 Oh the places books can take you! 🎉📚

In honor of Texas Public School Week, schools are celebrating the magic of reading and the joy it brings to our classrooms and libraries! From silly stories to big adventures, every page turned helps young readers grow a little brighter and dream a little bigger.

During my visit, I had the chance to see the love of reading in action at Ferguson Elementary School in Houston, part of . The library was buzzing with students exploring stories, discovering new favorites, and diving headfirst into books. 📖

And guess what? There may be book fairs popping up at some of our CHISD elementary campuses this week, bringing even more pages, pictures, and possibilities for our young readers!

Because when students READ…
They imagine 🚂
They explore 🌎
They learn 💡
And sometimes they even roar like a dinosaur! 🦖

Happy Texas Public Schools Week and Read Across America Day—let’s keep turning pages and sparking curiosity one book at a time! 📚✨

Shouting out two phenomenal school counselors during National School Counseling Week! 💛

Ms. Melinda Miller and Ms. Lakeisha Terry are true examples of what it means to care for the whole child. During my time at Permenter Middle School, I watched them serve with compassion, excellence, and an unwavering commitment to students’ well-being.

They didn’t just listen — they made sure students were heard.
They didn’t just support — they made sure students felt safe.
They didn’t just counsel — they helped make sure students were cared for, even when it meant helping with basic needs like clothing and food.

That’s the heart of real school counseling.

Thank you both for continuing to pour into the students, families, and staff of Permenter Middle School and CHISD. Your work matters more than words can express, and your impact is felt far beyond the walls of the building.

Happy National School Counseling Week! 🎉
