We're collecting new and gently used life jackets to stock life jacket loaner stations across North Texas. A donated life jacket could be the one that saves a life.

Are you passionate about water safety, outdoor recreation, and educating others? Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is now accepting applications for the role of Boater Education Training Specialist—a dynamic position that combines public outreach, education, community engagement, and boating safety across the state of Texas.

This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact by promoting safe and responsible boating practices, supporting volunteer instructors, and helping Texans gain the knowledge and confidence to enjoy time on the water safely. From coordinating educational events and developing outreach materials to partnering with schools, law enforcement, marinas, and community organizations, this role plays an important part in protecting lives and encouraging safe recreation on Texas waterways.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and educator who enjoys working with the public, presenting information to diverse audiences, and creating engaging educational experiences. Whether your background is in education, outreach, recreation, communications, public safety, or outdoor programs, this position offers the opportunity to build connections, support statewide initiatives, and help expand boating safety awareness throughout Texas.

Successful candidates should be organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects while working independently and collaboratively with partners across the state. Experience with public speaking, event coordination, volunteer engagement, social media or digital outreach, and presentation development is highly valued.

This is a full-time position with benefits that include enrollment in the state retirement plan, medical coverage, paid leave, agency vehicle, cell phone, and more.
