Come join us to learn the basics of backyard birding with the Zula B. Wylie Public Library!Join Ranger Mikaila to celebrate Cedar Hill’s recognition as a Bird City! First, take a dive into the basics of backyard birding. Then, learn how to build milk carton bird feeders. Come learn a new way to recycle!Zula B. Wylie Public Library provides free entry to the park. If the sign-up is full, you are still welcome to come to the program! Just pay the $7 per person entry fee for the state park or use your annual Texas State Park pass if you have one. These Barbies are MOTHS! Moths come in all shapes and sizes along with their ‘Kens’, the cicadas, beetles, and many others. Moths are important nocturnal pollinators, moving pollen from plant to plant with their long mouthparts as they search for food. There are over 160,000 known species of moth with many more to be recorded. We use iNaturalist during our Moth Walks to record each species that shows up in the area. This allows scientists to study the moth populations and gain more knowledge about the health of the ecosystem. We encourage you to go out and find a mothing event near you.
