Meet our Arkansas State Director, Alan Alvey.
Greetings Conway! Meet Me Monday is back! We are excited to bring you a glimpse of some of the City of Conway’s unsung heroes that work behind the scenes in City Government.
Meet Alan Alvey… Alan has worked for the City of Conway’s Transportation Department as a Traffic Manager for 15 years. Alan is responsible for all traffic signals, signs, and markings. He is also responsible for all repair and maintenance of electronics and software in the city’s traffic system. He oversees all production of signage and markings for city streets as well as the emergency alert system for the city. Alan holds a level 3 certification from the International Municipal Sign Association which is the leading public safety organization for traffic and roadway in the world. He currently serves as the elected Arkansas State Director for I.M.S.A. Alan also holds certifications in cable technology and fiber optics as well as several certifications from manufacturers and distributors for traffic hardware. Alan describes his passion for his job best as he states, “I love what I do and am always looking to expand my knowledge of the systems we operate and how I can share that knowledge. I’m always looking for how we can make it better more efficient and cost effective for the citizens of Conway. I want to help and support my co-workers and community with my best performance every day. I look forward to what I can achieve and learn each day.”
Alan is a Conway native. He holds an Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering. Alan is married with two adult children and in his spare time they enjoy gardening, traveling, and family time together. Alan has a passion for pinball and arcade games as he has a game room full of Pinball and arcade games from the 80’s and 90’s that he repaired and restored himself. He Loves to cook and loves carpentry work.
