1208 UPDATE: Roadway is back open!!

We are aware that the railroad crossing arms are malfunctioning on W Belt Line Rd. We have contacted the railroad but we do not have an estimated time for repairs.

Currently you need to detour to the north and use Pleasant Run Rd or south to Cedar St to cross. We will update this post when the repairs are made. Cedar Hill Fire Department

Want a closer look at what goes on behind the badge? The Citizens Police Academy gives Cedar Hill residents a behind-the-scenes look at the people, training and day-to-day work of the Cedar Hill Police Department.

From learning more about police operations to connecting directly with the officers who serve our community, it’s a great way to see CHPD from a whole new perspective.

The Cedar Hill Police Department would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Cedar Hill and our surrounding communities for your incredible support in helping locate a missing critical teenager last week.

This successful outcome is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Through the rapid reach of social media, information was distributed quickly across our city, educating residents on who to look for and how they could help. Many (541) of you shared the information, remained vigilant, and leveraged the strong personal relationships and connections that make Cedar Hill such a special place to live.

Because of your willingness to engage, spread awareness, and look out for one another, valuable information reached the right people at the right time. Your actions demonstrate that public safety is truly a partnership between law enforcement and the community we serve.

Thank you, Cedar Hill, for showing the strength, compassion, and unity that define our city. Your commitment to looking after one another continues to make a difference and proves that when our community works together, we can accomplish remarkable things.

Another thing we learned is the importance of the cities emergency communication system, EVERBRIDGE. This important tool was instrumental in helping in this case.
