Yesterday, in collaboration with Mission Cedar Hill, members of Cedar Hill Police Department worked on a project to help a resident with the removal of an old fence and the building of a new fence. We are thankful for opportunities to help fill a need in our community and we even got to use some cool tools and even two tractors!

Message from the Chief:

We are committed to keeping our community informed about major incidents that occur in our city. With more information comes the perception that crime is increasing. I want to share with our community, the current and historical crime information for Cedar Hill.

From 2016-2020, Crime has gone down every year, resulting in a 41% decrease in the Crime Rate over the last 5 years.

There was a 27% decrease in 2020 compared to 2019.

Comparing Jan-May of 2021 with Jan-May of 2020, there has been a 28% decrease in the crime rate so far this year.

These decreases are a direct reflection of the work our dedicated men and women do on a daily basis and the great relationships that we have with our community partners.

Let's continue to work together to keep Cedar Hill the safest community in the Best Southwest!!

*** Road Closure ***

Update as of 3:30pm

Crews are on scene and making repairs. The latest update is that they will be able to keep the left lane of the highway open and a full closure will not be necessary. The right lane of the highway will remain closed until approximately midnight tonight. Please use caution and expect delays in the area.

Update as of 10:00am

The Texas Department of Transportation has made us aware that the lane closure will extend for at least 24 hours. Repair crews will be on site later this afternoon and we anticipate a full closure of south bound Hwy 67 at that time. This closure will potentially affect traffic during the evening rush hour. Please seek an alternate route.

7:00am

The right lane of Hwy 67 south bound is closed at Cooper St. due to a sinkhole. Texas Department of Transportation has responded and is preparing for repairs to the roadway. We are being told this will be an extended closure and that all traffic may be diverted to the service road later in the morning. If possible avoid the area and expect delays.

Amazing representation and show of love by the city and the police department for Shea Ray at his funeral yesterday!!! He was one month away from completing the academy and worked for the city!!
Any information about the hovering helicopter at Belt Line and Uptown? Been there for over 30 minutes. Making the daycare they are hovering over nervous.

Thank you to chief Reyes for helping me and my kids!!!! So very grateful
For everyone in Cedar Hill and area who are either law enforcement or the family of those serving I post this song and video for you. Having worked in corrections as a chaplain for 4 to 5 years you can bet I have your back whether you police in the US or Canada. Having family who have also been first responders serving as EMTs I know sometimes you are called out to war-zones and nightmares that you carry with you...long after you clear your shift. Sending you love, encouragement, and support from Canada... #backtheblue #backthebadge
This has been happening in our community for a long time now. Due to the bizarre nature of this system I've not spoken on it because nobody would have believed me. That was my failure. This is a hill worth dying on. When it starts happening to you... you WILL know it; I hope that my efforts here in extending myself will help you through it and perhaps facilitate a situation where you do not have to go at it alone as I have done for years. Godspeed & God bless you all "Were going to roll out an army of gang stalkers across America to mess with people, to track people, to follow people, and to make their lives a general hell to live in every day. They do it covertly, you would have to do it in a way that is not noticeable to the general public but is noticeable to the target. They want the target to know they are being tracked to have the maximum psychological impact. The point of the system is to convince everyone that the target is crazy."

I would like to know the number of citations or tickets that were issued due to illegal fireworks. How do I obtain this info?
Fireworks still going on in Wildflower. This is getting ridiculous.
Fireworks are going off continuously in high point Cumberland
Fireworks in the 800 block of Green Pastures intermittently for the last hour. Very annoying.
