Today our officers were proud to partner with Mission Cedar Hill to build a fence for a family in our community. They may not have uniforms on but you can see their servant hearts still hard at work.

Please join us in celebrating Public Safety Director Chief Reyes today on his retirement! Chief Reyes has dedicated just over 7 years of service to the City of Cedar Hill. Chief Reyes’ accomplishments here include, but are not limited to, expanding the department’s community engagement efforts through programs like Chicken with the Chief, Coffee with a Cop, and Paletas with the Police. He created the Cedar Hill’s award-winning Neighborhood Walk program, and we have visited more than 20 neighborhoods since the program began in 2019. Chief Reyes has been instrumental in advancing public safety technology in areas like Drones and the new CAD system.

Upon announcing today as his retirement day, Chief Reyes had these words for the Cedar Hill Community, “To the Cedar Hill Community, thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your unwavering support throughout my time here. From the very beginning, you welcomed me and my family with kindness and gave me the opportunity to serve a city that truly values public safety, service, and community. It has been a privilege to work alongside you, and I will always be grateful for the relationships, support, and shared commitment that made this journey so meaningful. While I may be stepping away from this role, I will always carry immense pride in having served this department, this city, and this community. Cedar Hill will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Join us in thanking him for his service to this community and sending well wishes for his next adventure.

This month we have celebrated TWO graduations, (in addition to our friends over at Hill Independent School District c/0 2026 graduates).
Our first ever TEEN POLICE ACADEMY in partnership with CHISD graduated 9 students. We were also pleased to present a scholarship to one student, courtesy of @24 Hour Wrecker Service.
Our 39TH (!!) CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY wrapped up and 18 citizens graduated this course.
Both of these courses put our attendees through the everyday life of a police officer. From the physical agility portions, drone and crime scene, these graduates got to see it all!
If you're interested in attending a Citizens Police Academy class, it starts in September please reach out to CPL Brackenridge for information ([email protected]).
If your student is interested in Teen Police Academy, they must be a Cedar Hill High School student can can reach out to either of the criminal justice teachers next school year for more information.
