Please join us in welcoming to the fulltime ranks, Paramedic Lillian O. This weekend marks her first fulltime, 48-hour rotation. Lillian began with us part-time in 2022 when she completed her EMT schooling. In that time, she achieved her Paramedic Licensure and we have watched her grow as a prehospital clinician. She follows in the footsteps of her parents and other family members as a first responder and healthcare provider.

An overdose can be a frightening event to witness, people are often afraid to call for help. Missouri Good Samaritan Laws encourage people to call 911 without fear of repercussions. As EMS, we treat all people as people. Life is our mission.

Thank you Northwest R-I School District. A strong partnership and coordination between all of the agencies and school district is beneficial for responses of all variations. We are proud to support Lion Nation.

An emotional tribute to local first responders opened Northwest’s latest board meeting, recognizing the men and women who work behind the scenes to keep students safe. The district also accepted a major digital scoreboard donation from Barnhart-based Piros Signs, saving Northwest roughly half a million dollars, while new Superintendent Dr. Kyle Gibbs continues building connections across the district. School is back in session, meaning school buses are returning to our neighborhood roads. Morning and afternoon commuters should prepare for increased road congestion, frequent bus stops, and children walking near roadsides. Whether you are driving a car or waiting for the bus, staying alert ensures every student makes it to school and back home safely.

This week, Northwest R-1 School District and our local public safety partners came together for a tabletop training exercise focused on communication, coordination, preparedness, and keeping our schools and community safe.

Exercises like this give us the opportunity to work through real-world challenges together, strengthen partnerships, and make sure we’re ready when it matters most.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and brought their experience, ideas, and commitment to the table. We’re better when we train together!
