PTSD Awareness

While often associated with combat veterans and first responders, PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a life-threatening or traumatic events such as abuse, disasters, and other tragic events.

Common signs of PTSD

🔸️Intrusive Thoughts & Flashbacks

🔸️Avoidance: Actively staying away from people, places, or situations that serve as reminders of the traumatic event.

🔸️Negative Mood Changes: Feelings of emotional numbness, detachment, and an inability to experience positive emotions.

🔸️Sleep Disturbances: Chronic insomnia or having frequent, terrifying nightmares

Congratulations to Maggie and Christian who were 2 of the 41 graduates this evening from the Jefferson College Paramedic Program. They will now continue through the testing process to earn their National Registry certification and Missouri Paramedic license.
