What an amazing day! We are truly lucky to have Kay Beck here and ready for year 51. :)

A special education teacher received a touching surprise Wednesday, with fellow teachers and special education parents of Kay Beck hosting an open house to celebrate her 50 years of teaching.

Students it's time to start working on your Reflections entries!
Students can submit entries in seven different categories (2-D art, 3-D art, music, dance, photography, flim, and literature).
Each entry will include a short artistic statement that tells how their entry goes along with the theme, “I am hopeful because...”

Entries are submitted online at https:// www.utahpta.org/ret
All entries are due September 30th.
The class that has the most entries will get an extra recess.
The teacher of that class will receive an Amazon gift card, lunch, and a Swig drink of their choice.
Any student that submits entries to at least three categories will receive a special Tic Tac Toe Treat Award.
Any student that submits entries to ALL seven categories will receive a special BLACKOUT Award.

You will never believe what we found!!!! We have uncovered a box from 1997 from Mrs Wise’s 6th grade class. If you were in that class and would like your treasured art project, come stop by the front office!

Parents, we are looking for two 29 hr a week Aides for this upcoming school year. They will have the privilege of working in our world-class Small Group Classroom for children that have special needs. These positions are extremely rewarding and I'm excited to interview potential candidates for these positions. You will be joining a veteran team that will go out of their way to help and train you. Hello CR Cougar Nation!

I have purposely waited to send this final message because it wasn't a reality until just a few days ago. To let you all know, I have been transferred to another school in Alpine School District. Starting officially on July 1, I will be at Foothill Elementary in Orem. This came as a complete surprise to me as I was looking forward to continuing for as many years as possible at Cedar Ridge. I am feeling bitter sweet in that I am always excited for new adventures, but I am also saddened that my time at Cedar Ridge has come to an end after only three years. Please know how much I will miss all of you; staff, students, and community. You made me feel welcome and I felt completely supported as a principal. You are all amazing and Cedar Ridge will continue to thrive because you all will make it so.

Please welcome Carl Stubbs who will be replacing me at Cedar Ridge. Mr. Stubbs is very excited to take the reigns at Cedar Ridge and I am very happy he was chosen. Mr. Stubbs said, "I am excited to be part of the Cedar Ridge family, home of the Cougars, and to work with the students, staff and parents. I loved my experiences in my past schools and I can’t wait to get to know everyone at Cedar Ridge.
“I appreciate the trust that is given to me by the parents of our students and I look forward to the opportunity to build relationships with our teachers and community that will support the school in its goals. I love the strong focus on academic excellence that is present at Cedar Ridge Elementary School. Cedar Ridge is in good hands with Mr. Stubbs as principal! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your summer and please say hello if you see me out in public. I will always remember my time at Cedar Ridge. and go make a ruckus, CR Cougar Nation!
