Cedar Hills Day at Provo Recreation Center!

Our meter data collection device and mounting equipment located in the southern part of the city was vandalized shortly after midnight on 8/14. This has affected the meter data collection for residents west and south of Timpanogos Park.

Those who are registered on AquaTrax and live in the affected area will not be able to see any data after 8/13 until the equipment is replaced. Please note, only the software for data collection has been affected. The actual meters are still reading usage correctly and utility bills will be accurate.

UPDATE:
The road work originally scheduled for 8/13 (Purple Day) was rescheduled to 8/20 & 8/26. Green Day (8/17) and Pink Day (8/19) will take place as scheduled.

The road work scheduled for today on Cedar Hills Dr, Sage Vista Ln, & Morgan Blvd has been postponed due to rainy weather. Please keep an eye out for the rescheduled date and other information. Thank you for your patience!

Shortly before 12:30am the culinary repair was complete and service was restored. We appreciate our dedicated staff for their hard work to complete the repair!

Our Public Works crew is continuing their work to repair the culinary water leak. The repair will be significant and a portion of residents will be affected as they have the water shut off….areas from Cedar Hills Drive north to Cottonwood Drive between Forest Creek Drive and Oak Road West may be impacted. The team will continue to work until service can be restored.

There is a significant water leak in the area of Cedar Cove. Residents on and near that street may experience low pressure or a complete water outage while the Public Works team is working to locate the leak. At this time, it appears to be a culinary system leak. We appreciate your patience while the crews are working to resolve this issue.

Many residents have received a notification from AquaTrax about a potential water leak. Please know these notifications are NOT a scam. The alerts are to inform residents when they have continuous water usage and to prevent waste and high costs.

Culinary Water (water inside the house): Residents will receive a leak alert if there is continuous water usage of at least 5 gallons per hour for 24 consecutive hours. If you receive a culinary leak alert, please check all inside water appliances for leaks before contacting the city.

Pressurized Irrigation (sprinklers): Residents will receive a leak alert if there is continuous water usage of at least 1 gallon per hour for 24 consecutive hours. If you receive a pressurized irrigation alert, please contact the city at 801-785-9668 x200.

CITY WIDE FIREWORKS BAN

Governor Spencer Cox has given municipalities the ability to coordinate firework restrictions through working with the Mayor, Fire Chief, and the State Forester to determine whether fireworks can be used this Pioneer Day weekend.

After careful consideration and coordination with officials, the City of Cedar Hills is prohibiting the discharge of personal fireworks within city limits.

For the safety of our community, there is a zero tolerance policy for this restriction. If you see personal fireworks being used, please help by contact non-emergency dispatch at 801-794-3970

You can still enjoy a great fireworks show this week for Pioneer Day! The Fireworks at Utah Lake (view flyer) is put on by licensed professionals, giving everyone a safe and free way to celebrate!

Mayor Andersen has directed city staff to turn on the small, 20 gallon water feature at the Civic Center. Though the fountain recycles water, the estimated loss of water due to evaporation is less than 4 gallons per week, which is only 2 toilet flushes! Without circulation, the fountain retains standing water that attracts insects and growth that deteriorates the structure.

The city is still encouraging water conservation through responsible watering and ensuring both culinary and PI leaks are promptly resolved. We thank all residents who are making an effort to conserve during the drought!
