🚨 EXTREME HEAT WARNING 🚨
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect Wednesday, July 1 through Saturday, July 4 at 8:00 PM.
Dangerous heat is expected over the next several days, with:
🌡️ Heat index values between 100°–110°F
☀️ Air temperatures near 100°F
💧 High humidity and warm overnight temperatures offering little relief
The hottest and most dangerous days are expected to be Thursday and Friday.
Stay safe by:
💦 Drinking plenty of water
🏠 Staying in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible
🌳 Limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day
👕 Wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing
❤️ Checking on older adults, young children, neighbors, and anyone with medical conditions
🐾 Making sure pets have fresh water and shade
🚗 Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.
Know the signs:
⚠️ Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, or muscle cramps.
🚑 Heat Stroke: Confusion, loss of consciousness, hot skin, or a temperature above 103°F. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
If you’re attending outdoor events or Fourth of July celebrations, plan ahead, stay hydrated, and take frequent breaks from the heat.
