The bus driver who knows your child's name.

The counselor who noticed.

The teacher who stayed late.

If Prop A passes, Leander ISD could give employees a one-time retention bonus this December.

Let's keep great people here!

Three cents.

About $6.7 million for Leander ISD.

Prop A funds day-to-day operations: staff pay, programs, and student services.

Compared to last year, that's about $2.30 more a month on a home at LISD's average taxable value.

Qualifying homeowners 65+ or disabled have a school tax ceiling, so Prop A won't raise district taxes on their homestead.

Special education in Leander ISD runs a gap of about $21.2 million between state funding and what it costs to serve students well.

Our students deserve the staff and support that fits their needs. Prop A helps close that gap.

Great question!

Let’s start with what LISD has already done to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars.

The district has already cut $26 million over the past two years. This is staffing, services, and even a school consolidation.

All difficult decisions.

If Prop A fails, that’s not the end. According to information publicly shared by the district, the deficit stays at $9.9M now, and climbs to $17.2M by 2027-28.

That means more cuts to classrooms and student programs ahead.

Prop A doesn’t ask for a blank check. It asks us to stop digging the hole deeper.

As we gear up for the November 3rd election, some of you may be asking, what does Prop A actually pay for?

Let’s be clear….it is NOT a blank check.

Its about real, specific needs:

✅ Day-to-day operations, such as instructional programs, student services, staff salaries, etc.

✅ Potential for a one-time staff retention bonus this December

✅ Closing underfunded gaps in special education and gifted & talented programs

Leander ISD has already cut $26 million and still faces a budget shortfall.

Prop A doesn’t fix everything, but it keeps our schools moving forward instead of falling further behind.

Early voting: October 19–30.
Election Day: November 3.

Lots of questions coming in about Prop A, so let’s break it down 👇

It’s asking LISD voters to approve just 3 cents more on the tax rate, money that goes straight to day-to-day school operations like teacher pay, classroom supplies, and keeping our schools running.

For a home at LISD’s average taxable value ($460,292), that works out to about $27.56 a year, roughly $2.30 a month.

Less than a coffee run. ☕️

And if you’re 65+ or have a qualifying disability exemption, your school taxes won’t increase at all.

Vote FOR Prop A — let’s keep LISD strong. 💚
