Hey CR Chess Club! This is your second chance to auto-qualify for the CR Championship. We will have an (unrated, free) G15+10 swiss tournament starting at 6PM (please arrive before and register). We will likely only get 3 rounds in so any ties in the top score bracket will be resolved in a blitz playoff.

Shawn will be at his son's choral conert so Ryan M will be running the tournament!

As always, if you're not in the mood for a tournament feel free to just hang around and play anyone who is available.

a couple things:

1. Mea Culpa - sorry I had all the sets last week and was out of town. I hope you scournged enough sets together to have fun regardless.
2. This week is our March Tournament Wednesday. To celebrate the madness be there by 6PM. Format is .... TENNISON Gambit Quads G15+10.... be sure to do some basic opening study before showing up. Here is chess.coms page: https://www.chess.com/openings/Reti-Opening-Tennison-Gambit
3. We will be meeting in the Children's programming room on the first floor this week before returning to the Whipple auditorium

The Tennison Gambit is an aggressive gambit opening for White. The Tennison can happen after Black goes for the Scandinavian Defense or if White plays the Reti Opening and Black plays 1...d5. Not common in master-level games, the Tennison is still a playable gambit line, especially at the club level...
