Do you know that we use well over 2,000 plastic grocery bags every single week!?
That is nearly 10,000 per month, 120,000 per year, and our bin is just about empty!
Remember the Three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). You will minimize garbage and promote sustainability when you donate your empty grocery bags every time you come home from the store. Simply drop off at any Catholic church here in the metro area, or bring directly to our door when we are open.
Pictured is our bag cage, custom built for our pantry a couple of years ago by our creative volunteers. Alarmingly, it is only about one third full right now.
You may donate any standard sized plastic grocery bags that are clean and usable. It's ok if they are extremely wrinkled, as long as they are clean and do not have gaping holes or ripped handles. Extra points if you double bag them!
