Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation Our mission is to have a direct impact on the social, physical, and mental welllbeing of families.

The Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation was created in 2012 and is managed by firefighters and civilians who volunteer their service and are dedicated to helping children and firefighters living in Iowa. Our foundation hosts several fundraisers throughout each year and participates in many memorials, services and activities throughout the state. Following many successful years of providing suppor

t and charitable donations to Iowans, we decided to create our 501c (3) non-profit to better assist our endeavors. While Iowa citizens are well aware of the professional skills and care provided to them by firefighters, our foundation wishes to enhance our presence within the community. To date, our foundation has donated over $150,000 back to organizations that assist children living in Iowa.

As an organization dedicated to the health and well-being of our local families and firefighters, we want to share some important educational updates with our supporters. Local media partners from KCRG-TV9, KWWL, Iowa's News Now, and The Gazette recently toured several Cedar Rapids fire stations. Their coverage highlights the structural and health challenges facing these aging facilities—including the critical need to build modern cancer-prevention barriers that protect crews from toxic vehicle carcinogens. A $60 million CRFD facility bond measure will be on the ballot for Cedar Rapids voters this November. We encourage everyone in our community to take a look at the media coverage below to learn about the current state of our city's stations and how these proposed upgrades impact public safety.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 23, 2026! Join the Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation for our favorite Memorial Day weekend tradition.
Whether you’re running the 5K, participating in the wheelchair race, or cheering on the little ones in the Jr. Firefighter Kids Fun Run, we want to see you there!
All proceeds support the CRFD Memorial 5K Run/Walk and help us care for fallen and ill firefighters and their families across Iowa.
