To The Rescue is hiring for Housing Direct Support Professionals.

Hourly – 9am-6pm; Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday
Housing – Hours are varied by house and may include but is not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Multiple shifts available 2pm-10pm, 10pm-9am, (9am-2pm weekends only).

As a Direct Support Professional, you will support and assist individuals with disabilities with their daily activities, teach them life skills, and help them achieve their goals. Our Staff provide opportunities for self discovery and life enrichment by assisting our members with grocery shopping, meal planning, attending events such as movies, ball game, a play or even going to the zoo!

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Sue Schantz., HRIS Analyst, also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight — a role she has proudly held for several years.

“I went on the Honor Flight with my dad and his two brothers in April of 2019. We started volunteering right after. About a year later, I took over the Volunteer Coordinator role and have been doing that ever since,” Sue shared.

For Sue, the most meaningful part of the experience is the people.

“My favorite part of Eastern Iowa Honor Flight is the people I meet—not only the other coordinators and volunteers, but also the veterans and their families. I love that we all come together to give each veteran a day in their honor and the welcome home that they deserve.”

Eastern Iowa Honor Flight provides veterans with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the memorials and monuments built in honor of their sacrifice and service to our country. Sue helps ensure every flight runs smoothly by coordinating a fleet of more than 300 dedicated volunteers who make each mission possible.
