🚒 May 2026 Incident Run Report 🚑

Here are the Solon Township Fire Department's May 2026 response statistics.

During the month of May, our dedicated firefighters and EMS personnel responded to 58 total calls for service, including medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, fire-related incidents, and other community assistance calls.

We are proud to serve the residents and visitors of Solon Township 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether it's an emergency, severe weather event, fire, accident, or public assistance call, our members stand ready to answer the call.

Thank you to our firefighters, EMS providers, mutual-aid partners, dispatchers, and community members for your continued support. Together, we help keep Solon Township safe.

Real-world prep for worst-case scenarios. 🧑‍🚒🔥 Last night, our Solon crew utilized a burn box to study fire behavior and smoke patterns in real time. By mimicking dangerous conditions like flashovers and backdrafts, this training gives our firefighters a critical edge in reading a fire before stepping inside.

Big shoutout to Lieutenant Klaasen and Captain M. Schievink for putting together an awesome training session!

Tonight, several local fire departments came together for a fire and rescue training at the Cedar Springs Hilltop Building.

Departments in attendance included Solon, Cedar Springs, Sand Lake, and Courtland. It’s always a great opportunity to train side by side and strengthen our teamwork for the safety of our community.

A big thank you to Cedar Springs Public Schools for allowing us to use their facility!

A burn ban is in effect. It will be in effect until at least May the 8th. This ban is also in effect for fires that do not require a permit.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chief Shoultz and extend our heartfelt condolences to the Walker Fire Department, his family, and his friends. His dedication to the fire service was truly remarkable, and he will be profoundly missed.
Rest easy Chief.
