Cedarburg Fire Department members were hard at work Thursday night with hands‑on training focused on hose advancement, nozzle demonstrations, and pumping/drafting for our motor pump operators.
This training featured the HEN nozzle, and crews were able to flow water and advance hose all the way up to the top floor of Ozaukee Central Fire Department's training facility. A great night of valuable training and teamwork!

CFD Monthly Training Update

Last week, Cedarburg Fire Department crews completed their monthly fire training, focusing on vehicle fire scenarios. Firefighters reviewed tactics for safely and effectively extinguishing car fires, using Engine 163 and UTV 160 during the training.

• Engine 163 is our first-out engine for all fire responses.
• UTV 160 assists with brush fires and is also used downtown during Cedarburg’s festivals.

Crews also spent time reviewing procedures for electric vehicle (EV) fires. CFD is equipped with specialized EV fire blankets to help safely manage these incidents.

Thank you to all our firefighters for their continued dedication to training and preparedness.

We would like to take the opportunity during EMS Week to recognize and thank the men and women of the Cedarburg Fire Department and our emergency medical services personnel. Because EMS is our primary function, we recognize that the extensive hours required for schooling, ongoing training, and emergency response demand immense personal sacrifice. We are profoundly grateful for the dedication and compassion our professionals demonstrate.

This year’s EMS Week theme is “Improving Outcomes, Together.” We work closely with our surrounding departments, local hospitals, and our Medical Director to ensure we are utilizing industry best practices and adhering to the highest professional standards. We remain deeply committed to continuous quality improvement, constantly seeking innovative ways to better serve our patients and the entire Cedarburg community.

If you encounter members of our team this week, please remember to extend your gratitude and recognition for their vital service to our community.

Over the weekend, 19 members of the Cedarburg Fire Department completed 8 hours of training on our new Tower 159 to prepare for its service launch next week. Crews operated the Tower in various challenging locations throughout the Town and City of Cedarburg to better understand its capabilities.

We would like to extend a big thank-you to Nick Wilbur from Emergency Vehicle Response for providing the training this weekend. We greatly appreciate your expertise and support!
