🚧 SOUTH WASHINGTON AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project! Here’s the latest:

πŸ”Ή Curb & Gutter: Parisi Construction is continuing curb and gutter work heading north and is expected to complete this portion by the end of today.

πŸ”Ή Sidewalks & Driveways: Beginning September 8, crews will start pouring sidewalks and driveway approaches. Some driveways will need to be temporarily closed while work is completed and the concrete cures. Crews will work in sections whenever possible to maintain access to properties.

πŸ”Ή Traffic Changes: Traffic is currently shifted to the two east lanes of Washington Avenue, with the two west lanes closed.

⚠️ Beginning September 14, the next phase of traffic control is scheduled to begin. The west lanes within the Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections will be closed so crews can complete work in those areas.

Concrete work is expected to continue for approximately 2–3 weeks.

πŸ“… The overall project is currently scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, although we are hopeful work can be completed sooner!

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project! Here’s the latest:

β€’ Vinton’s grading crew has completed pavement removal, excavation, and installation of the new gravel base on the west side of Washington Avenue outside of the Lincoln and Pioneer intersections.

β€’ The concrete crushing operation at Cardinal Avenue and Pioneer Road is now complete.

β€’ Vinton will be adjusting catch basins over the next couple of days.

β€’ Beginning August 31, Parisi Construction will start concrete work on the west side of Washington Avenue, including curb and gutter and driveway approaches. Some driveway access will be temporarily impacted while concrete is poured and cures. This work is expected to take approximately 2–3 weeks.

πŸš— Traffic Update:
Both directions of traffic are currently traveling on the two east lanes of Washington Avenue while the west lanes remain closed.

The next traffic-control phase is expected to begin around September 14 and will include closing the west lanes through the Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections so work can be completed in those areas.

The project remains scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, although an earlier completion is the goal.

πŸ”Ή Vinton’s grading crew is continuing north, removing pavement and installing the new gravel base. Roadway grading outside of the Lincoln and Pioneer intersections is expected to be completed by August 24.

πŸ”Ή Concrete crushing near Cardinal Avenue and Pioneer Road is expected to wrap up by the end of this week.

πŸ”Ή Beginning the week of August 24, Parisi Construction is expected to start curb, gutter and driveway approach work along the west side of Washington Avenue. Some driveway access will be temporarily limited while concrete is poured and allowed to cure. This phase is expected to take approximately 2–3 weeks.

🚦 Traffic Update: The two west lanes of Washington Avenue remain closed, with traffic traveling in both directions on the two east lanes. Please use extra caution when crossing Washington Avenue at Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard due to the elevation difference between the lanes.

The next traffic-control phase, which will include work within the Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections, is anticipated to begin after Labor Day.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update

Work continues to move forward on the South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Project!

βœ… Vinton Construction has completed storm sewer replacement on the west side of Washington Avenue.

🚜 The grading crew is now working north, removing concrete pavement, excavating approximately 16 inches, and placing the new gravel base. Concrete crushing has also begun near Cardinal Avenue and Pioneer Road. This work, outside of the Lincoln and Pioneer intersections, is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

πŸ“… Parisi Construction is anticipated to begin concrete work on the west side of Washington Avenue the week of August 24.

Traffic remains shifted to the two east lanes of Washington Avenue while the two west lanes are closed. The Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections remain open. Please use caution when crossing Washington Avenue at these intersections due to the elevation difference between the east and west lanes.

The project remains scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, with hopes of finishing earlier.

As we head into the final weeks of the season, please note that the Cedarburg Community Pool will have adjusted post-season hours August 17–23!

Our hours are a little different β€” and shorter β€” than our regular season schedule, so be sure to check the schedule before heading to the pool.

🚧 South Washington Avenue Reconstruction Update 🚧

Vinton Construction is continuing storm sewer replacement work along the west side of Washington Avenue, which is expected to take approximately one more week.

Temporary lane closures will be needed on side streets west of Washington Avenue to complete storm sewer crossings. This includes work across Lincoln Boulevard just west of Washington Avenue. Lane closures on Lincoln Boulevard are expected to begin Friday and last approximately two days, with lanes planned to reopen for the weekend.

Beginning August 11, crews are expected to start concrete removal and roadway grading from the south end of the project. Concrete crushing will also resume near the corner of Cardinal Avenue and Pioneer Road. This work is expected to last one to two weeks.

During the current traffic phase:

β€’ The two west lanes of Washington Avenue are closed.
β€’ Both directions of traffic are traveling in the two east lanes.
β€’ The Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard intersections are open.

Drivers should use caution when crossing Washington Avenue at Pioneer Road and Lincoln Boulevard due to the elevation difference between the east and west lanes.

The project remains scheduled for completion by November 6, 2026, although an earlier completion date is anticipated if conditions allow. All timelines are subject to change due to weather and construction progress.

Clydesdale Parade Information for Thursday, July 30, 2026

On July 30, 2026 the Budweiser Clydesdale Wagon will have a parade along Washington Avenue from Spring Street northward to Gate 1 of the Fair Park. Parking along Washington Avenue will not be restricted, however vehicles parked on Washington Avenue along the parade route will not be able to leave until the parade has passed through. Roads intersecting Washington Avenue along the parade route will be closed to traffic during the parade. The timeline is noted below:

1:45 p.m. Spring Street between Hilbert Avenue and Washington Avenue will be closed for the parade set up.
2:45 p.m. Washington Avenue will be closed to traffic
3:00 p.m. Parade begins at Washington Avenue and Spring Street, heading north to the fairgrounds
4:00 p.m. Washington Avenue will be re-opened to normal traffic flow
