We joined Rep. Liz Hanbidge and Whitpain officials to celebrate $100,000 in state funding to support the construction of a new community center, which is under construction now! The community center, next to Center Square Park, will provide a great space for the community to use for everything from sports and senior activities to first responder trainings and community meetings.

We're teaming up with Rep. Joe Webster and Senator Amanda Cappelletti to host a free document shredding event on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. – noon at Norristown Area High School, 1900 Eagle Drive in Norristown.

Prevent identity theft and safely dispose of personal documents. All paper will be recycled, and there is a limit of two boxes/bags per household.

There will be dozens of vendors sharing important resources, informative presentations, and free lunch!

We had a great time learning about agriculture and the environment with local students at Variety - the Children's Charity of the Delaware Valley's Farm City Day. We joined Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and Senator Maria Collett to explore Variety's greenhouses and gardens, which are designed to be accessible to support the needs of individuals with disabilities. This week, we honored the legacy of E. Pearl Smith by celebrating the naming of a local bridge in her memory.

We joined Rep. Gregory Scott, the offices of Rep. Joe Webster and Senator Amanda Cappelletti, Montgomery County, PA Commissioner Jamila Winder, West Norriton Township officials and Pearl’s family, friends and Mt Zion A M E Church family at the West Norriton Township building to celebrate her many contributions to the community.

Pearl was a dedicated school board president at Norristown Area School District and a matriarch at Mt. Zion AME Church in the Municipality of Norristown

Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

The E. Pearl Smith Memorial Bridge carries Whitehall Road over Kepner Creek in East Norriton Township. It’s one small way we can pay tribute to Pearl’s lasting impact on our community! https://pahouse.com/Bradford/InTheNews/NewsRelease/?id=143750

⚠️This is a paper only shred event with a limit of two boxes per household. No electronics or trash are permitted, and any boxes or bags will be returned to you after materials are shredded.

We wanted to give our new summer interns, Matt and Andrew, and Perkiomen Valley High School student Nyle, who is shadowing our office this week, a taste of our community. So, of course, we took them to Merrymead Farm in Worcester Township, PA! They checked out some of the farm animals and enjoyed Merrymead's delicious ice cream - the perfect treat for a very warm spring day!
