Lots of work is happening around the neighborhood as the MUD continues investing in our community.

Today, crews are enhancing the riprap along the trail between Light Farms Elementary and Maydelle. This improvement is designed to reduce erosion, protect the crossing, and help keep dirt and debris off the trail - especially for the many students and families who use this route to get to and from school.

Thank you for your patience while this work is completed. These proactive improvements help keep our trails safe and in great condition for everyone.

🚧 Road Work & Traffic Pattern Changes

Beginning today, drivers can expect temporary traffic pattern changes on Light Farms Way at the Parkview to Indigo crossover as crews repair areas of road buckling.

This work is expected to continue through next Monday. Please use extra caution, watch for construction crews, and follow all traffic control devices.

Reminder: Roadway striping on Worthington Way and Cypress Creek Way is also underway. Please use caution in those areas as crews continue refreshing pavement markings to improve safety and visibility.

🚧 Roadway Striping Improvements This Week

Crews will be refreshing roadway striping along Worthington Way and Cypress Creek Way, from Frontier Parkway to Light Farms Way.

Work includes restriping lane lines, turn lanes, stop bars, crosswalks, and other pavement markings to improve visibility and safety.

Please expect temporary lane closures or brief traffic delays. Work is weather dependent.

GRANGE & SWEETWATER CLEANUP

Over the next week, you’ll notice crews working throughout the highlighted areas.

Work includes:

* Rough mowing
* Raising tree canopies
* Removing dead trees and fallen limbs
* Clearing accumulated trash and debris

This work helps reduce the amount of trash that gets trapped during heavy rains and flooding, improves access to storm outflows for future maintenance, and gives healthy trees more room to thrive.

These improvements are part of our ongoing effort to protect and enhance Light Farms’ natural spaces while making them safer, cleaner, and more sustainable for years to come.

Last night, the Board recognized Cub Scout Pack 289 with a formal resolution honoring them for their outstanding community service and commitment to keeping Light Farms clean and beautiful through multiple cleanup hikes.

The Scouts were also presented with a special patch in recognition of their service to the Light Farms community and led the Board and attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge.

We are grateful to the Scouts, leaders, and families who generously give their time to improve our community and set a positive example of service, leadership, and stewardship.

Please join the Board in thanking Pack 289 for their efforts and congratulating them on this well-deserved recognition. Their hard work, dedication, and willingness to serve help make our neighborhood an even better place to live.

🎉 New Directors
The Board formally accepted the documentation to seat Directors-elect Bert Mueller and J.D. Witte.

🚲 E-Bike Regulation
The Board unanimously approved moving forward with adopting the City of Celina’s e-bike ordinance as part of our development agreement. Additional details will be shared once finalized.

🌳 Right-Of-Way Trees
The Board unanimously agreed to move forward with:

Removal or trimming of trees that are in the right-of-way and blocking stop signs and traffic signs. Affected Residents will be notified soon.
Right-of-Way Tree Removal application process for residents to request permission to remove trees in the ROW. The application will be posted to the MUD’s website shortly.

Irrigation System Repairs
- Repairs to wells, pumps, and irrigation systems throughout the community

Stormwater & Drainage Improvements
- Sterling Ct & Sunnyside Ct Outfall Cleanup – improve drainage and reduce flooding
- Eastland Tunnel Cleanout – reduce water pooling and mud accumulation

Landscaping Enhancements
- Parkview landscaping bed improvements
- Sod installation: Hudson, Bridgewater, and Wimberly
- Dead tree replacement on the Eastland bridge
- Landscaping updates near Sweetwater Way & Linden
- Sod and irrigation improvements behind Inwood Ct and Kelley Ln (Reagan)
- Fence replacement at Smokebrush Ct

The District has made strong progress restoring irrigation systems and landscaping in partnership with Woodlake. The Board will continue to prioritize landscaping, hardscape and erosion improvements throughout the summer and fall.
