Community Notice: Unmanned Train Blocking Ash Street

The City is aware of an unmanned train that is currently stopped and blocking Ash Street in the downtown area. We understand this situation is causing inconvenience for residents, visitors, and local businesses, and we want to assure the community that we are actively monitoring the issue.

Our team has been in contact with BNSF Railway, which owns and operates the train. They have been notified and are working to resolve the situation as quickly and safely as possible.

If you encounter a similar situation or wish to report a blocked railroad crossing, there are official channels available for residents:

Report to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA):
The FRA provides a national reporting system for blocked railroad crossings. You can file a report online at:
https://www.fra.dot.gov/blockedcrossings

These reports help federal and state agencies track patterns and identify problem areas that may need further investigation or corrective action.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with BNSF to resolve this matter. Public safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to share updates as they become available.

These batteries power everything — phones, tools, kids’ toys, even pet gadgets — but when damaged, overcharged, or stored incorrectly, they can spark serious fires.

🔥 Fire Prevention Association of North Texas partnered with CBS News Texas to help spread the message, and Celina Fire’s Mike Rockne was front and center in the segment — walking viewers through real-life safety tips and how to spot battery risks in your own home.

⚡ Don’t forget: e-bikes, scooters, and hoverboards are some of the fastest-growing causes of battery fires. Charge them safely and never leave them plugged in unattended!
