Expect continued windy conditions, heavy rainfall, & rumbles of thunder in the next hour. We are not observing imminent weather to happen at this time. While conditions are still unknown as it approaches our county. We STILL will get damaging winds. Our ground is saturated, with winds 75+ large trees could be pushed over. Please remain weather aware. Will update as we can.

Tornado Watch 344 is in effect until 1:00 AM EDT tonight for Indiana counties including Bartholomew, Blackford, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Grant, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jackson, Jay, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Miami, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, and White. This is a WATCH, not a Warning. Know your shelter location, monitor updates, and be ready to act quickly if a Warning is issued.

To answer your questions about future watches - this will come down to how storms perform over the next few hours. And how our environment comes together.

06/17/2026

The ground is already saturated from recent rain, which means trees can be knocked over more easily when strong winds arrive.

⏰ Main threat window: 8 PM – 2 AM

Primary threats include:
đŸŒŦī¸ Damaging winds
🧊 Large hail
đŸŒĒī¸ Possible tornadoes

While flash flooding is possible, the greater flood threat is expected to stay to the tristate area.

Remember: Damaging straight-line winds can cause damage similar to a tornado, especially when the ground is wet and trees can uproot more easily.

If you think you may need to shelter elsewhere, please call friends, family, churches, or public buildings ahead of time rather than showing up unannounced.

Stay prepared, not scared, and have multiple ways to receive weather warnings tonight.
