The juniors in the Teaching Profession’s program got their first of many opportunities to work with a partner and present material to the class. Impressive! It is going to be an exciting year to see how far they can go.

This is a powerful example of the impact our Tri Star programs and more importantly, the instructors behind them, can have on a student’s life.

Virgil was a Tri Star Machine Trades alumnus, and the program was something that remained very meaningful to him. During his time at Tri Star, he looked up to and was mentored by an incredible instructor, Rob Menker. That relationship and the impact of the program clearly stayed with Virgil long after he left the classroom.

Virgil’s family is now honoring his memory with these shirts, with all proceeds going directly to the Tri Star Manufacturing & Machining Technologies program to help support future students.

As an instructor, this one hits home. We don’t always know how much of an impact we’re making while these young people are sitting in our classrooms. Sometimes that impact lasts far beyond the two years we get to spend with them. ❤️

If you feel called to purchase a shirt, honor Virgil, and support the next generation of Tri Star students, the order link is below.

Rest easy, Virgil. Your impact will continue. ❤️

Robotics & Automation students from Tri Star Career Compact are taking their skills to University of Northwestern Ohio for Robotics & Automation. Keep up the great work guys!!!

A $50,000 investment from Honda is making an impact at UNOH!

Honda representatives visited campus to see firsthand how their support is enhancing hands-on learning in our Robotics & Automation Technology program. Students showed them the new Mitsubishi PLC simulators funded by the grant.

The partnership doesn’t stop in the classroom. Through co-ops, plant tours, industry engagement and career pathways, Honda continues to help connect UNOH students with opportunities.

🎄 CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST! 🎁🛠️

It felt a little like Christmas today for our Tri Star Manufacturing & Machining Technologies seniors!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Gene Haas Foundation, our program was awarded a grant that allowed us to purchase toolboxes and a great set of tools for every senior who completes both years of the Manufacturing & Machining Technologies program.

Today, the seniors got to start unpacking, organizing, and putting together their new toolboxes, and there were definitely some smiles around the shop!

Program instructor Mr. Gilliland said, “It’s awesome to be able to reward these students for committing to and completing two years in our program. Even better, we’re helping take away the expense of purchasing their own tools as they prepare for Work-Based Learning later this year and eventually begin their careers in the machining industry.”

These aren’t just tools, they’re something our students can take with them into the workforce and use as they begin their careers.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Gene Haas Foundation for investing in career-tech education and, most importantly, investing in our students and their futures!

🎄 Christmas came a little early at Tri Star!
