What an incredible weekend at Mercer County House of Hope!

On Saturday, our residents attended Revive Ohio at the Allen County Fairgrounds, where two residents made the life-changing decision to be baptized and give their lives to the Lord.
On Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating another special baptism as our female house manager Candice, was baptized at her local church. Our residents and staff were honored to be there to support and celebrate this important milestone with her.
Afterward, we gathered together at the house for fellowship, enjoyed a taco bar, and celebrated one of our residents' birthdays. It was a wonderful time filled with faith, encouragement, laughter, and community.
We are incredibly grateful for God's guidance and the unwavering support of our community. Recovery is not a journey that anyone should have to walk alone, and because of the love, prayers, and support we receive, our residents have opportunities to grow, heal, and build brighter futures.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Mercer County House of Hope. Your kindness, encouragement, and belief in our mission make a difference every single day. ❤️🙏

Today on Spectrum, we sat down with Roberta Bonifas, Candice Wilson, and Cody Bonifas from the House of Hope of Mercer County. This conversation is about recovery, accountability, faith, family, and the kind of community support that helps people rebuild their lives one step at a time.

The House of Hope is doing important work right here in Celina, and this episode gives listeners a closer look at what that work actually looks like behind the scenes.

Today was one of those days that reminds us exactly why this journey matters so much. Our residents had a blessed, meaningful, and fun-filled day surrounded by worship, love, and support from our amazing community.
Our morning started at Grand Lake United Methodist Church for a beautiful ceremony where we watched local preschoolers, high school seniors, and college students celebrate their graduations and accomplishments. Seeing those milestones reminded everyone that growth, perseverance, and new beginnings are possible for all of us.
After the ceremony, our residents jumped right in to help with the church carnival from 11:30 to 1:30. They served with smiles, helped families enjoy the day, and continued giving back by tearing down games and bounce houses afterward. From there, they headed to the high school to help set up for field day. Their willingness to serve others speaks volumes about the progress they are making and the hearts they carry.
The day didn’t stop there. Once home, they shared fellowship, co****le, pool, laughter, and meaningful conversations together. These are the moments where healing happens — not just in big ways, but in the simple moments of connection, purpose, and belonging.
Today also brought emotional and meaningful moments for several residents. One resident was blessed to spend time with his child, while another got to watch their child graduate. Moments like these remind us that recovery is not just about sobriety — it is about restoring relationships, rebuilding lives, and finding hope again.
We cannot thank this community enough for the continued love, support, prayers, and encouragement. God is moving in powerful ways, as they continue growing, healing, and learning how to give back to others.

I would also like to take a moment to introduce our new female house manager. I am truly blessed to have built such an amazing team as we begin this journey together. God is placing the right people in the right positions, and I have no doubt that together we will continue to grow, support one another, and make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
Roberta, Executive Director

Candice is the Women’s House Manager at the House of Hope, where she is dedicated to helping women live clean, sober, and purpose-filled lives. As a woman of strong faith in the Lord, she encourages spiritual growth alongside practical life skills for lasting recovery. Living sober herself, Candice leads by example and is passionate about guiding others on their journey. This is more than a job to her—it is her dream and calling to help others stay sober and grounded in God’s grace.

A message from the Executive Director: Roberta Bonifas

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome as I step into the role of Executive Director at Mercer County House of Hope. I am truly grateful for the support and encouragement from this incredible community.
I want to share from my heart that this program is something truly special. God is at the center of everything we do, and He is faithfully leading the way for every individual who walks through our doors. Every day, we see His grace, His mercy, and His transforming power at work in the lives of our residents.
This ministry is far greater than any one person—it is a true team effort. It takes faith, compassion, and commitment from so many. Without the unwavering support of our community, our dedicated board, and our incredible house managers for both the women’s and men’s homes, this mission would not be possible. Together, we are planting seeds, restoring hope, and walking alongside those seeking a new path forward.
We stand firm in knowing that with God, all things are possible, and He is not finished with anyone’s story yet.
With that, it is my honor to introduce our Male House Manager: Cody Bonifas

Cody Bonifas serves as the Men’s House Manager at the House of Hope, where he is dedicated to equipping male residents with practical life skills that support a successful transition beyond the recovery home. Having grown up in a home impacted by alcoholism and drug use, Cody understands firsthand the challenges many residents face. He later fell into an alcohol-centered lifestyle himself, but his life began to change when he met his now wife.
Today, Cody is grateful to be sober and uses his journey as a source of strength and connection as he helps others who are willing to accept guidance and support. He is passionate about helping individuals build a strong foundation for their future, while also encouraging spiritual growth and deepening their faith in God.

Both male and female residents from the Mercer County House of Hope were blessed to spend their Saturday at Eldora Family Fun Night. They enjoyed camping, sharing chili over an open fire, watching the races, and experiencing an incredible drone show and fireworks display.
This is what recovery looks like—God restoring hearts, building new memories, and guiding each step forward with purpose. Lives are being changed, hope is being renewed, and faith is leading the way.
We are beyond grateful for the continued support from our community. God is moving in powerful ways, and moments like these are a true reflection of His grace and goodness.
