Marty and her husband Mike returned to Buck Valley Ranch for their second visit. This time it was Marty's turn to harvest a Scimitar-horned Oryx. And boy did she! On their second hunt as daylight broke they were covered up with animals but no Oryx in sight. Cathy, their guide, told them the oryx would come in from the south and go first to a protein feeder that was in sight but out of range. They would then come further north to a round bale of hay that had recently been dropped and that would provide an opportunity. A bit later a good-sized herd of Oryx did exactly as expected. Some patience provided a good shot opportunity. Marty made a perfect shot dropping this beautiful 37-inch Oryx after only a 20 yard run.
