Voters of Rutland Town, this is for you! It has been brought to my attention that some of you are disregarding the information on these postcards. It is very important for you to know that it matters which number district you are living in. The number determines which ballot you will receive! This means that you may not be voting for the person that you thought you could vote for. Do not disregard the number on this card! Sample ballots are posted at Town Hall and on our social media sites. I've heard that many of you have thrown these away because all you thought you needed to know is the polling place. This is not all you need to know! Please share!

Did you know that Rutland Town has been divided into two districts? THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE A VOTER!! Below is an example of a postcard that each household will receive in Town. If you're an active voter, your household will be sent this informative card to let you know which district you are now assigned. Read it carefully and follow the suggestions. We are actively trying to make this process much easier on our voters. See you at the polls on August 9th!

Good Evening! It has come to my attention that some people are under the impression that I control our town’s Facebook social media page. While I do appreciate the power of social media and enjoy our town, I am not an administrator to our page. At times, there may be information on it that I have provided for the sole purpose of the business office. So, just yesterday I decided to update my campaign page. I thought it would be a good place to post due dates, updates and important information for our residents of the town. This page and my personal fb page are controlled by me. If anyone has opinions on other content posted elsewhere on social media I encourage you to either, keep your comments private or call the Town Hall. We will direct your call appropriately. While social media can be powerful it also can be very hurtful. Let’s use it appropriately and responsibly. That’s all. Enjoy your evening ❤️

RUTLAND TOWN RESIDENTS!!!!! The first installment of the 2020-2021 property taxes is due tomorrow. We will have the drop box available in front of the doors at town hall until 4:30 for payments. A few reminders so you’re not late....please do not put your payment in the white mailbox. The postman might think it’s mail and take it. Make sure if you’re mailing your payment that you get a postmark from the post office stamped no later than Sept 10th....believe me, this matters! Additionally, we have the online option available for payment on our website, rutlandtown.com. Anything received after midnight tomorrow without a postmark will be considered late and accrue interest. Not only does paying your taxes let you stay in your home but it helps the town run smoothly and allows the town to be the wonderful and safe place that it is known to be! Any questions, I’ll be at the office for phone calls at 773-2528. Or email me at [email protected]. Thanks everyone!

This is a just a little reminder that we are all dealing with the same circumstances as everyone else in this country, even those of us in a municipal setting. Please remember that we are human on the other end of the phone and are trying to navigate this new normal alongside everyone else. Try to remember that as you call us with your questions/concerns. Please be considerate and work with us and not against us. That being said, here are the ways in which you can pay your property taxes as we remain closed during this time. 1. Send a payment through the mail with a request for a receipt. 2. Drop off your payment to town hall and place it in our monitored and locked box by the door. 3. Log on to rutlandtown.com to pay by credit card or echeck. Be on the lookout for more information from me regarding land records and elections.
