💧 A Little Piece of Center’s History Comes Back to Life! 💧

Today marked a pretty cool moment for the Town of Center! For the first time since 2010, water was successfully pumped from the old well and pump located right in the middle of town.

There is still quite a bit of work that needs to be completed before this system can operate efficiently enough to support a fire, but seeing water come out of this pump again for the first time in 16 years was pretty incredible!

A HUGE thank you to Vemco Electric, Ken Dalby , and the Town of Center Utilities Department for all the hard work getting us to this point. This is an important step forward as we continue working to improve our town’s water and fire protection infrastructure. 💦🚒

WATER SERVICE NOTICE

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the Town of Center Utility Department will be repairing a water main on the 300 block of 1st Street.

Residents located within approximately 3 to 4 blocks of this area should plan ahead and store enough water for drinking and household use.

Water service will be temporarily shut off from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) while crews complete the repair.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the reliability of our water system.
