🌟 Sargent Classroom Great Things | May 11–22 🌟
There are so many great things happening across Sargent!
📐 In HS Math, students have been working hard in Geometry, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2. From solving problems with radii, tangents, and angles to factoring quadratics and applying logarithms to real-life situations, our students are building strong math skills!
✈️ In Aviation, students are wrapping up their Space Condo Peep Innovation Challenge and preparing to present their findings. Classes are also completing their second semester AOPA Post-Assessment. A special shoutout to Donovan Heineman, Aiden Hickley, Jonovan Felix, Braiden Jones, and Lane Mattive for representing Sargent at the 2026 Alamosa Airport Aviation Day! Students enjoyed discovery flights, Q&A, lunch, and some even had the chance to pilot the airplane!
💙💛 Sargent FFA celebrated a successful year at their End of Year Banquet. Congratulations to all of our FFA students and sponsors on a great year!
🌟 Elementary Shoutout!
Congratulations to our Elementary Students of the Quarter and our May Students of the Month! We are so proud of your hard work, positive attitudes, and the way you represent Sargent. Keep shining, Farmers!
🏫 BIG NEWS for Sargent School District!
Sargent has officially been awarded the BEST Grant for our upcoming domestic water, heating, and HVAC controls project! Out of 55 applications from across the state, Sargent was one of only 17 districts selected. Even better, our match reduction waiver was approved, saving the district 10% on required matching funds.
Work will begin this summer on the domestic water portions of the project, with heating and HVAC controls investigative work continuing this fall.
A huge thank you to Millig and our Facilities Committee for their guidance, hard work, and dedication throughout this process. This is a major win for the health, safety, and comfort of our students, staff, and school community.
