This summer the PIP crew collaborated with the Arkansas Valley Research Center in Rocky Ford, CO on a drought/heat tolerance trial for some of our up-and-coming potato varieties. The potatoes not used for our data were donated to UpRoot Colorado. This incredible organization was able to distribute 999lbs of fresh produce to Beulah Community Cupboard, The Pantry of Fremont, and Craver Middle School (home ec program) in Colorado City to support those affected by the Aspen Acres Fire. Produce was also donated to Pueblo Cooperative Care Center and RMSER. Thank you UpRoot and Ark Valley for your hard work supporting Colorado communities!

The San Luis Valley Research Center works with local growers and industry experts to research diseases like potato dry rot and develop climate-stress and disease-resistant potato varieties, directly benefiting Colorado potato growers 🥔

Thank you to all who came out for Samuel's field day earlier this week! Our potatoes looked great- here is a sneak peek at a few that are currently available or will be available for grower trials in the next year or two.

We appreciate our grower collaborators willing to grow these plots: Grant Mattive, Art Holland, and Tyler Mitchell. Thank you!
