Here is a small clip from a video Firefighter Foley captured on his helmet camera. As you can see, when Engine 38 arrived the garage was already heavily involved. Our first hose crew immediately put a good knock down on the fire as well as cooled a nearby vehicle to protect it from excessive heat. The quick knock down bought the time needed for additional resources to arrive. Once more crews and water arrived, more handlines were deployed to properly outten the fire.

Yesterday morning a little after 2am we were dispatched to a garage fire on Shartlesville rd. Engine 38, Shoey Fire Company 's Engine, and Shartlesville Community Fire Co. #1 Station 41 's Tanker all got there for the initial attack. Additional resources from Blandon Fire Department, Union Fire Company #1 of Leesport, Union Fire Company No.1 of Hamburg, Strausstown Volunteer Fire Co., Bernville Community Fire Company, and Port Clinton Fire Company provided assistance with manpower and water.

Additionally, Northern Berks Emergency Medical Services had an ambulance there to assess and treat any potential victims.

Tonight was a night of maintenance. With most of our officers attending meetings or away for work the rest of us got busy doing equipment checks, running all small engine powered tools, checking batteries on our air packs, putting new grips on our hand tools and washing the trucks. This not only shows pride in our equipment, but also keeps everything in running order for when it is needed.
