On Wednesday, July 15, beginning at 8:00 a.m., the Centerton Fire Department will be conducting live fire training in the 14000 block of LC Hickman Rd.

If you're in the area, you may notice heavy smoke throughout the morning. Don't be alarmed—this is a planned training exercise, and there is no emergency.

Training under realistic conditions is one of the best ways we prepare our firefighters to respond when our community needs us most. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep our crews ready to serve.

The Centerton Fire Department will be conducting live fire training in the 1200 block of West Centerton Boulevard on Tuesday, July 7, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Residents and motorists in the area should expect heavy smoke to be visible throughout the training. This is a planned exercise, and there is no cause for alarm.

❄️ Ice Safety Reminder ❄️

Recent weather has caused many local lakes and ponds to freeze, but the ice is NOT safe. The Centerton Fire Department urges everyone to stay off all frozen bodies of water.

Ice can be unpredictable and unstable—no matter how solid it may look.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and caregivers should ensure children are never left unattended near frozen water.

📞 If you see someone on the ice, notify authorities immediately.

🚨 If you witness an ice emergency, do not go onto the ice to attempt a rescue. Call 911 right away, remain on shore, and try to keep the victim calm until help arrives.

Your safety matters—when in doubt, stay off the ice.

🚫 NO FIREWORKS – COUNTY-WIDE BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚫

Due to the current county-wide burn ban, the use of fireworks is strictly prohibited on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day throughout the county.

We recognize that many residents look forward to celebrating the holiday; however, public safety must remain the priority. Ongoing dry conditions significantly increase the risk of fire, placing homes, property, and first responders at risk.

🔥 What’s Prohibited:
• Fireworks of any kind
• Open burning
• Any outdoor activity that could ignite or spread fire

Your cooperation helps prevent avoidable emergencies and ensures emergency resources remain available for true emergencies during the holiday period.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Chief Orr. He was a dedicated public servant and a respected leader whose impact will be felt for years to come. Chief Orr dedicated a lifetime to serving others and leading with strength, compassion, and humility.

To his family, loved ones, and the firefighters of the Gravette Fire Department — we are standing with you in this time of grief.
