Assistant Principal- Mr. Chris Bundy In 1994, the building was remodeled and up-dated.

Our building was built in 1961 with additions added in 1976 and 1981. During the 2000-2002 school year, four new science rooms, a wellness center, and air conditioning were added. The structure includes 36 classrooms, a family and consumer science area, 2 gymnasiums, a guidance area, a pool, an auditorium, 1 computer lab, 2 music areas, a library, a kitchen, and a cafetorium. Grades K-12 use the music areas, the pool, the gymnasiums, and the auditorium.

Student Government will meet on Friday, September 4th. Please check in with your homeroom teacher and report to the library.

CHS Student Government invites your team, organization, club, or business to participate in the 2026 Homecoming parade on Friday, September 25th. The theme is “Can’t Tame the Bulldogs.” We encourage everyone to decorate in a jungle theme. The best float will receive $50.00. NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY: Absences in excess of seven (7) days during a school year will result in the student being required to have a medical slip for each absence that exceeds the seven (7) day limit. Failure to present a medical slip for each day absent after the seven (7) day limit, shall result in an unexcused absence for all classes missed.

With the above thoughts in mind, a student will be allowed only seven (7) excused absences for the school year.

Students, the grace period for getting your parking tags has come and gone. We will begin checking for parking tags next week so make sure you have purchased one and are properly displaying it in your car. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE EVEN IF YOU HAVE ONE FROM PAST YEARS. THEY DO NOT ROLL OVER FROM YEAR TO YEAR.

Congratulations to the 43 person cast and crew of "Disney's High School Musical," led by seniors Jonah Cornett as Troy Bolton, Anna Nevels as Gabriella Montez, Darcy Mathews as Sharpay, and junior Lucas Sewell as Ryan. Just like the movie, this group consists of members from many clubs and teams in the Bulldog family including band, choir, color guard, Green Club, French Club, Student Government, class officers, cross country, tennis, golf, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, wrestling, basketball, swimming, National Honor Society, BPA, FCA........and over 20 different local employers! We are also using this as a way to donate to our flooded neighbors that are athletes at these schools. All money or gift cards will be donated to local schools. Bring a friend! The CHS Drama Club is gearing up for its first project of the year, "High School Musical."
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26 in the high school auditorium. Enter through door #40.

• A student may bring but is prohibited from possessing and/or using a wireless electronic device which is portable and is capable of providing voice, messaging, or other data communications between two or more persons and includes cellular phones, tablet computers, laptop computers, digital cameras, gaming devices, wireless earbuds/headphones and/or smartwatches or any similar device that is connected to a cell telephone, a cell tower, or the Internet during the school day. A student may use such a device if a teacher requires use of a school-supplied device or a school-sanctioned device for instructional purposes only.
• During the school day, the wireless devices must be stored away in lockers in grades 5 - 12 and backpacks in grades pre-k to 4, powered off, and inaccessible to students. The school is not responsible for items lost, stolen or damaged in lockers or backpacks.
• A student may be disciplined including suspended or expelled for using a wireless electronic device in a manner for violating this policy and may have the device confiscated by school administration.
• 1st offense - Item will be confiscated and student may pick up item at the end of the day. A student will be assigned an after school detention.
• 2nd offense - Item will be confiscated, student will be assigned an after school detention, and parent must come in to pick up item.

• 3rd offense and above - Item will be confiscated and the student will be assigned an out-of-school suspension.
• ** A long detention will be assigned for grades 7-12.

Homecoming Parade 2026-

Once again, the Centerville Senior High School Student Government is sponsoring the homecoming parade. We invite your team, organization, club, or business to participate in the 2026 parade on Friday, September 25th. The theme is “Can’t Tame the Bulldogs.” We encourage you to decorate in a JUNGLE theme. The best float will receive $50.00 from the CHS Student Government. The Centerville Bulldogs will play the Rushville Lions at 7:00.

Parade entries should line up at 4:30 p.m. in the Centerville Senior High School parking lot. Please use the main entrance off Willow Grove Road. The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Adult chaperones will be responsible for monitoring the behavior of students riding on their float. Water guns, water balloons, and materials of that sort are not permitted. You may toss candy.

Please call or email Holly Stiggleman by Tuesday, September 22nd to ensure a spot in the parade.

Drag out your safari hats, binoculars, and animal masks and get ready to cheer on the Centerville Bulldogs!

Our community is facing a serious flooding emergency, and we know many families may be dealing with circumstances they never expected.

If your family needs assistance with anything, please let us know. See the attached flyer for information on how to contact a building administrator with requests.

Due to the ongoing recovery efforts following the recent flooding, current travel advisories, and the possibility of additional rainfall this evening, Centerville-Abington Community Schools will be closed on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. The closure will allow our community additional time to recover from the flooding while also reducing the risks associated with hazardous travel conditions and potentially worsening weather.

We will continue to monitor road conditions and the weather closely and will provide updates regarding the reopening of school as information becomes available. At this point in time, we feel confident we will be ready to return on Monday, and we will be applying for a waiver to excuse all missed days to this point.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work through these unprecedented circumstances together. Stay safe, Bulldogs.

Due to severe flooding causing Wayne County to be on a level three travel restriction until noon tomorrow and some of our houses being flooded and without power, Centerville-Abington Community Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, 2026. This will be the last of our built-in days and will be made up at a later date. Thank you, and be safe, Bulldogs.
