Not all Heros Wear Capes, but Marines Do 🇺🇸

There’s no denying that Marines have the best uniforms. It’s simply an objective fact. But, did you know that Marines are also authorized to wear a Cape and Sword as part of their Dress Blue uniform?

Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) are authorized to wear the NCO sword, and commissioned officers are unhorsed the wear the Mameluke sword.

Staff Noncommissioned Officers and Commissioned officers are also authorized to wear an actual cape, the famed Boat Cloak.

If you have questions about the Marine Corps, contact us at 678-229-7312 or stop in at our office in the Galleria Mall.

How Far Will You Go? ✈️🌎

It’s often said that the Marine Corps does three things extremely well: We make Marines, we win our nation’s battles, and we return quality citizens.

It’s always great to see Marines go on to do great things after they leave military service. With that in mind, I wanted to give a shout-out to this Marine:

I met Carl Anderson during our work-up to deploy for our deployment to Afghanistan in 2010. We had just gotten back from a deployment to Haiti to conduct a humanitarian relief mission after the 2010 earthquake, and he was one of a large group of new riflemen that arrived for assignment fresh from the School of Infantry.

He was assigned to our platoon, 2nd platoon Bravo Co, 2nd LAR as a 0311 scout/automatic rifleman. We went on to deploy to Afghanistan together in 2011. He was always in good humor, smart, dependable, and all around a great Marine to have on your team.

After his time in the Marine Corps, he went on to have a family, studied aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and became a commercial pilot for American Airlines. Going full circle, he helped fly service-members into Afghanistan for deployment, retracing the same journey we took nearly a decade earlier, and even volunteered to helped with the eventual evacuation there. It’s great to see him doing well and it’s great to know we have Marines out there doing great things. Semper Fi, brother!
