Centerville City Schools This is the official page for Centerville City Schools, located in southwest Ohio. Elk pride never dies.

Centerville City Schools serve more than 8,000 students in Centerville and Washington Township in southwest Ohio, offering a variety of educational programs to a diverse student population. The district operates 13 school buildings, as well as two preschools and a bus facility with more than 120 school buses that transport students daily to public and non-public schools. Corn mazes, hayrides, s’mores and time with friends made for a fun fall evening at Lucas Brothers Farm! These are just a few of the memories from one of our middle schoolers’ favorite traditions.

Keeping students safe on and around school buses is everyone’s responsibility. Drivers, students, families and motorists all play a role in making sure our kids get to school and home safely.

Meet the team that starts and ends each school day with your kids! Our transportation team works hard in every season to safely get Centerville students safely to and from school, helping us empower, challenge and support every learner to grow every day.

To celebrate reaching their AMAZING $30,000 fundraising goal, PVS held a SUPER FUN inflatable race! Our brave teachers suited up in hilarious oversized inflatable costumes and raced through an obstacle course, bringing tons of laughter, excitement and unforgettable memories!

🚌 School Bus Safety Week: Know the Danger Zones!

Student safety is the most important part of our day.

Did you know there’s a 10-foot danger zone around a school bus? These areas can make it difficult for drivers to see children.

We want to remind families of bus safety. Students should stay at least 10 feet away from the bus at all times — this includes 10 feet in front, 10 feet behind, and 10 feet on each side of the bus.

Important safety rules:
Students who must cross the road should wait at least 10 feet in front of the bus and cross only when the driver gives the hand signal.
Never walk behind a bus.
Do not run toward the bus — running can lead to slips or falls.
If something is dropped near the bus, tell the driver. Do not try to pick it up.
This visual is designed to help new students and families understand the safe and unsafe areas around a school bus and to reinforce safety at pick-up and drop-off.

Build Elk Strong: Our community showed up in a big way! 🖤💛

At this week’s special Board of Education meeting, attendees took a closer look at the District’s Master Facilities Planning process, digging into school buildings, plan details and ideas for the future. The Working Group worked through key elements of the plan, and lots of questions were asked and answered along the way.

There’s more to come as community members are encouraged to attend upcoming meetings to hear updates, learn more about the plans and see the process unfold.

Ten Centerville students are members of the Dayton Boat Club, competing in rowing competitions throughout the region.

At the Head of the Cuyahoga in Cleveland, several students earned top finishes across multiple events!

🥈 Second-place finishes: Daisy McKinniss, Emily Fleming, & Josie Edwards
