I called Austin Harris earlier tonight to congratulate him on his win. I wish that I could call each of you and thank you for your support. This has been an experience, to say the least. I'm definitely not done, I may not run again but I am definitely getting more involved. Nothing changes when we sit on the sidelines. My frustration with government has not changed but my feeling helpless has. Our voices matter, we just have to use them. Stand proud and let them hear you. I love you all, and thank you!!! ❤️❤️

Tomorrow is election day. All I ask is to vote with your heart and not with hate. If that vote is for me, I thank you. If not, I thank you for voting. I also ask that whoever you vote for and if they win, hold them accountable, get involved, and let them know what you need them to do, me included. This process has been an eye-opener for me, and I have loved all the conversations I've had over the past few months. I will be doing what I normally do on Tuesday nights, playing pool in league at the bowling alley in Centerville surrounded by friends.

I know it's easy to vote party lines. That's what they want you to do, or it wouldn't be an option on the ballot. I, for one, am tired of that. There are bad actors in both major parties. Just because you have an R or D before your name doesn't make you the right person for this job. And those asking you to vote party lines don't have your interests at heart.... they have theirs.

I had mentioned at the "meet your candidate" forum about how I'd like to see property taxes eliminated. We may actually get to see what that looks like in North Dakota very soon and hopefully in Iowa at some point.

North Dakota voters will decide next month on Measure 4, which would repeal property taxes and bar counties, towns and other local governments from levying them.

Take some time and sign this petition for term limits.

The mission of U.S. Term Limits is to enact term limits on all elected officials especially the U.S. Congress.

I'm not running because I've always wanted to be a politician. In fact, getting tattoos on my eyelids sounds like more fun than ever being a politician. Why I am running is because I am done with the way things are. The government is too big to care about you or me. Sure, they put on a good show and tell you what you want to hear, but when it comes right down to it, they don't follow through. I know this first hand, and it's not just the politicians, it's the people behind them in the AGs office, the Iowa Department of Revenues office and all the other deep dark holes where they control your life without a thought or care to how you are affected.
Here is an example. The majority of people want term limits. How's that going? I'll wait...

Had a "meet your candidates" hosted by the Farm Bureau in Centerville tonight. It's definitely an experience as I haven't talked in front of people in about 30 years or so. I am not a politician, and that showed tonight. What I am is honest, empathetic, and not scared to get into situations that are out of my norm. I want smaller government, fewer taxes (a lot fewer), and for the government to be held accountable for their actions. I am THAT average person who just wants to live their life in peace, but the government won't let that happen.

I attended the city council meeting in Centerville today. Tempers were hot over the DNR fee on local water bills. Standing room only and the capacity was over what code allowed. I noticed that with such a heated topic, neither Austin Harris nor Darcie Whitlow showed, this was the same case in the property tax increase We need representation that isn't afraid to step in and help solve the problem. My promise to you: I am not afraid to get in the mix, I will call out those that abuse their perceived power, and I will do what's best for Iowa and our communities.

As we all know, most politicians are dirty. I guarantee this is the only kind of dirty I will ever be. I had fun at the annual mud volleyball hosted by the Mystic fire department.!

I attended Centerville's city council meeting on the proposed property tax hike that is now a reality. They blamed it on the state and said their hands were tied. If that's true, what did our representatives do for us, or should I say, to us? I will cut every single tax I can. We are all struggling, and they are wringing us for every penny they can get.
