Sally Field gave Josh Turek $500. The Iowa GOP would like you to be outraged about it.

Every donation named in their attack adds up to $31,500. Half of one percent of what he's raised, every check capped at $3,500 by federal law.

Their own nominee, Ashley Hinson, has taken $561,750 this cycle from corporate and industry PACs. Koch, Raytheon, the oil lobby, a private prison company. Ironically, since 2021, donors actually named in the released Epstein files, along with their spouses, have put more than $100,000 into her campaign and her leadership PAC. $43,000 of it arrived in September 2025 alone, in the same months she was refusing to sign the petition to force the files' release. She called that petition a stunt that handed leverage to Democrats, and she voted to release the files only after the outcome was already decided. https://iowastartingline.com/news/ashley-hinson-epstein-files-donors/

Those donors expect a return on that money, and nobody in the Iowa GOP has ever asked their own candidates a hard question about it. Reading between the lines tells you what this is really about. It isn't the money. It's that Turek questions the wealthy and powerful at all.

Josh doing his job isn't a scandal. Hinson doing hers is.
