Citizens Committee for Centerville City Schools On November 5, 2024, Centerville City Schools will be on the ballot with Issue 31, a 3.9 mill property tax levy. We cannot allow this to happen.

This levy seeks voter approval for crucial operating funds to preserve the quality of education, programs, and services in one of our community’s most valuable assets—our public school system. After 2 Failed Levies: The district cut 48 staff, froze salaries for all employees, eliminated programs, and even raised fees on families to save $3.5 million

Without Issue 31: The district will be forced to make more significant cuts which will results in changes that include, but are not limited to, fewer arts and sports programs, overcrowded classrooms, limited busing availability forcing some children to walk up to 2 miles to school, reduced safety and mental health services at a time when the need is higher than ever before, and the elimination of the Voyager After School Program. Please vote FOR Issue 31 to Protect Centerville Schools! www.VoteForCentervilleSchools.com

Parent-teacher conferences shine a spotlight on the partnership between families and teachers, but there’s another group working behind the scenes.

While teachers spend long days meeting with families, PTO volunteers are making sure dinner is ready, coffee is hot, snacks are stocked, and one less thing is on our educators’ plates.

Most people will never see those acts of service, but they matter.

This conference season, we’re grateful for every PTO volunteer who quietly shows up to support our schools. Your work helps our teachers feel appreciated so they can focus on what matters most- our students!

Thank you for everything you do. 💛🖤

Last week, something pretty remarkable happened.

A room full of people came together to talk about the future of Centerville City Schools— and they didn’t all walk in agreeing.

Around the table were parents. Community members. Business leaders. Alumni. Residents who have supported levies in the past. Residents who have opposed them. People with different experiences, different concerns, different priorities, and different perspectives.

And that’s exactly the point.

The District’s Master Facilities Planning Workgroup wasn’t created to rubber-stamp a decision. It was created because the strongest communities don’t avoid difficult conversations: they have them. They listen. They ask hard questions. They challenge assumptions. And together, they search for what is best for students and for our community. No one voice will determine what comes next. Because every voice matters.

That should make every Centerville resident proud.

Over the coming weeks, this group will continue wrestling with important questions, weighing priorities, and exploring possibilities for the future of our schools. The conversations won’t always be easy, but they’ll be honest, thoughtful, and grounded in a shared commitment to this community.

If you care about the future of Centerville City Schools, stay with us. Because whatever comes next won’t belong to one group— it will belong to all of us.

💛🖤

There are school buildings. And then there are the people who make those buildings feel like home.

To every teacher in Centerville City Schools…

Thank you for staying after the bell to answer one more question. Thank you for celebrating the small victories that no one else sees. Thank you for believing in students on the days they struggle to believe in themselves. Thank you for the notes home, the high-fives in the hallway, the extra time, the endless patience, and the love you pour into our kids every single day.

The future of our community isn’t built in boardrooms or city halls.

It’s built in classrooms.

If a Centerville teacher has made a difference in your life or your child’s life, mention them below and tell them why. 🖤💛

Let’s fill this comment section with stories that remind our teachers just how much this community appreciates them.

⭐ What does a 4.5-Star Ohio School Report Card actually tell us about our schools?

It's more than a number.

Ohio's School Report Card looks beyond a single test score to measure how well districts are helping students learn, grow, graduate, and prepare for life after high school.

This year, Centerville City Schools earned an overall 4.5-Star rating, including 5-Star ratings in Progress, Gap Closing, and Graduation, reflecting strong academic performance and a commitment to helping all groups of students meet Ohio's expectations.

In this carousel, we're breaking down what these ratings mean in plain language and highlighting some of the biggest takeaways from this year's report card.

Did you know the Ohio Governor has a significant influence on the future of public education? 🤔

When most people think about schools, they think about local school boards and for good reason. But many of the policies that shape our schools begin at the state level.

From proposing Ohio’s education budget to signing education legislation and appointing key education leaders, the Governor plays an important role in decisions that affect every public school district, including Centerville City Schools.

As Ohio heads into another gubernatorial election, it’s important for voters to understand not just who is on the ballot, but what the office actually does.

📲 Swipe through to learn how the Governor’s office influences public education in Ohio and why it matters to our schools and community.

At CC4CCS, we’re committed to providing factual, nonpartisan information that helps our community make informed decisions about the issues affecting public education. 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛
