Parking Restrictions

Beginning at 9 PM on Sunday, August 30th, there will be NO PARKING on the west side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Monday until crews have finished for the day.

Beginning at 9 PM on Monday, August 31st, there will be NO PARKING on the west side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Tuesday until crews have finished for the day.

Beginning at 9 PM on Tuesday, September 1st, there will be NO PARKING on the west side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Wednesday until crews have finished for the day.

Beginning at 9 PM on Wednesday, September 2nd, there will be NO PARKING on the west side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Thursday until crews have finished for the day.

City of Centerville - Comprehensive Plan Update
We need your input!

The City of Centerville is working on its Comprehensive Plan. This process will take approximately 18 months, with many public, planning & zoning, and council meetings to complete. A Comp Plan is a core City document that many developers, grant organizations, and City Planners rely on to incorporate community input into the City's future development. Our Comp Plan was last updated in 2019.

Parking Restrictions

**This is going to be extended for one more day in order for the crews to finish.**

Beginning at 10 PM on Tuesaday, August 25th, there will be NO PARKING on the east side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Wednesday until crews have finished for the day.

Due to rainy weather, the Centerville Street Department was unable to get the square project completed. With nice weather in the forecast, they will be hard at work next week completing the road project on the east side of the square.

Beginning at 10 PM on Sunday, August 23rd, there will be NO PARKING on the east side of the square. This will be in place during the day on Monday until crews have finished for the day.

Public Information Notification

Louise Lass with Southwestern Advantage has obtained her peddler permit for the City of Centerville. She will be in town from August 3rd through August 5th.

In February of 2026, Mike Rowley, a volunteer member of the America 250 Iowa Task Force, approached the city about placing a standard military headstone to honor an unmarked veteran, William Manson.
Although William is not buried in Oakland Cemetery, his original resting place is unmarked and is believed to now be farmland. Several of his children and grandchildren, however, are buried in Oakland Cemetery. With approval from the City Council, permission was granted to place the headstone on the plot of one of his children.
The military headstone was installed today in William Manson's honor. This memorial serves as a lasting tribute to his service and sacrifice for our country.
