πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ›΄ RIDE SMART. RIDE CENTERVILLE. πŸ›΄πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

As the weather gets warmer, more people are enjoying bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, and other personal transportation devices throughout our community. The Centerville Police Department would like to remind everyone that safety starts with knowing and following the rules of the road.

Whether you’re riding to school, work, or just enjoying the outdoors, please remember:

βœ… Wear a helmet and other appropriate safety gear.
βœ… Stay visible, especially during low-light conditions.
βœ… Obey all traffic signs and signals.
βœ… Be aware of vehicles, pedestrians, and your surroundings.
βœ… Ride responsibly and courteously.
βœ… Park scooters and bicycles in a manner that does not obstruct sidewalks, ramps, or entrances.

Riders should also familiarize themselves with the City of Centerville’s ordinances, including Chapter 10.80 – Bicycles, Skateboards, Roller Skates and Scooters, as well as applicable Iowa traffic laws.

These regulations are in place to help protect everyone who uses our streets, trails, and public spaces. By following the law and practicing safe riding habits, we can all help prevent accidents and keep Centerville a safe place to live, work, and play.

Safety is a shared responsibility. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.
