We want to remind residents that Central City does have a property maintenance ordinance. This ordinance covers everything from tall grass to abandoned vehicles. If warnings and citations are ignored, the ordinance does allow for the city to clean the property and place a lien against it. PLEASE take a little pride in your property and don't let it get to that point. Thank You.....

All of Sebastian County is now under a burn ban. No outside burning of any type is allowed.

Next Tuesday, August 18th, the Lavaca Public Schools will be back in session. Drivers need to be aware that the school bus makes several stops on both Hwy 22 and Hwy 255. As before, Central City Officers will be out to enforce this, because the law is clear. Unless there is a physical barrier, ALL traffic must stop for a bus that is loading or unloading. This DOES include multi lanes, and turn lanes. They are not considered a physical barrier, and drivers must stop. In most stops, we hear the same excuse...Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. So, don't be that one driver not paying attention and striking a child. See less
