🇺🇸 Lone Tree Days Parade Volunteers Needed! 🇺🇸

The Lone Tree Days Parade will take place on Saturday, July 4 at 11:00 AM, with line-up behind the Elementary School after 10:30 AM.

If you LOVE decorating, then you will really appreciate Marlene Garwood and her daughter Jonie! They have been busy creating water bottle labels, donating 4 BIG bags of candy, organizing banners, lining up haybales for the float, and even received a limited amount of small handheld Constitutions to hand out during the parade.

Now we need your help!

We are looking for:
• Patriotic Towels to place on Haybales
• Candy donations — a bag or two would be great! Please no chocolate.
• Parade volunteers to represent the Merrick County Republicans.

Parade volunteer options:
• 10-14 people to ride on the float
• 8-10 people to hand out water while walking next to small wagon
• 3 throw candy and walk the parade route with our float

Decorating help needed:
• Friday, July 3 at 6:00 PM — Meet at the Speed Shop, located behind the Thrift Shop in Central City, to help decorate the trailer.

AND/OR

• Saturday, July 4 from 8:00–8:30 AM — Meet at the Speed Shop to help with final touches, balloons, and last-minute parade fun!

Working for Nebraska's Families

“Welcome to the Good Life.” A phrase every traveler sees as they cross our state lines. For many, it’s just a slogan. But for those of us who call this state home, it’s something deeper. It’s a promise.

I see this promise fulfilled every day. I see it in conversations with students working hard to build their future, in parents balancing long days to provide for their families, and in communities coming together when it matters most. What makes Nebraska special isn’t just where we live, it’s how we live, and the value we place on family.

Those values have carried our state forward for generations. While a strong family unit helps Nebraskans maintain our resilience, it is something we must continue to prioritize.

I know raising a family today comes with real challenges. Costs add up, time feels stretched, and too often, families are not aware of the resources available to help lighten the load.

When Congress passed the Working Families Tax Cuts, we put practical tools directly in the hands of families. From expanding the Child Tax Credit to supporting adoption, to making it easier to save for education or take time off to care for loved ones, these policies were designed with Nebraska families in mind.
