Muhlenberg County Fair is NEXT WEEK & it is loaded with fun activities all week long! In addition to the Carnival, Kid Zone, Cool Zone & Exhibits, these special events will be taking place:

🎖June 9th: Firefighter Olympics @ 6pm on Track, Antique Tractor Pull @ 6pm in the Ag Center, Roy Kyle band @ 7pm at Pavilion.

We would like to invite you to join us this THURSDAY @ NOON as we celebrate the grand opening of our Muhlenberg County Visitor Center located in Casey's General Store in Central City. This is an exciting new addition to our community with an interactive kiosk (and pamphlets for those who prefer hard copies on their visits,) showcasing all that there is to offer in Muhlenberg County. We have been proud to partner with Greenville Tourism Commission & Central City Tourism Commission in contribution to community & tourism efforts with this project. We invite you to come check it out & celebrate with us Thursday!

A great activity for this weekend!

In Kentucky, six magical trolls can be found hiding at Lake Malone State Park as part of the “Malone Family of Big Twigs,” a larger-than-life outdoor attraction tucked around this scenic park in Dunmor. The family includes Happy, Bobber, Oakley, Wattson, Annette, and Paige, and each troll brings a different piece of lake life to the experience. Happy Malone is the camper of the group, sitting beneath the trees with marshmallows and a love for wildlife. Bobber Malone watches over Lake Malone with a fishing pole, right at home where visitors cast for bass, bluegill, catfish, and more.

Oakley Malone stands tall near the trails, tied to hiking, fresh air, birds, and the oak-filled woods around the park. Wattson Malone is drawn to the glow of fireflies and the quiet magic of moonlit nights at the lake. Annette Malone carries a net and loves butterflies, while Paige Malone is the reader, always ready for a new story and a new adventure. The Big Twigs stand up to about 17 feet tall, and the sculptures were created by Brainchild Creative of Sevierville, Tennessee, using steel frames covered with foam and fiberglass, giving them a woodsy, storybook look that fits the park.

Part of the fun is walking the trails and searching for each one near the lake, wooded paths, and park areas. Lake Malone itself covers 788 acres and is framed by dramatic sandstone bluffs, with more to enjoy after the troll hunt, including easy hikes, boating, fishing, picnicking, a seasonal beach, and camping when facilities are open. After its winter renovation closure, the park is set to welcome spring visitors back just in time for another season of exploring one of Kentucky’s most whimsical outdoor attractions.
