Tonight, members of the Nelson Creek Fire Department are proud to be standing by at the Muhlenberg County Fair for the Truck and Tractor Pulls. It’s always an honor to serve our community, whether we’re responding to emergencies or helping keep local events safe and enjoyable for families and visitors alike.

Our department has a special connection to the Muhlenberg County Fair that goes back to our very beginning. When Nelson Creek Fire Department was established in the early 1990s, we were a young volunteer department working hard to raise the funds needed for equipment and operations. The Muhlenberg County Fair gave our members the opportunity to work by parking cars during fair week, and the money earned helped purchase some of the original equipment that got our department off the ground.

What many may not realize is that support didn’t just help us then, it helped shape the department we are today. Because of the generosity of our community and organizations like the Muhlenberg County Fair, we’ve been able to grow and continue investing in up-to-date equipment and resources for our firefighters. That means our members have the tools they need to operate safely and effectively while providing the highest level of service possible to the citizens of our fire district. Nearly 35 years later, those acts of generosity and community support have never been forgotten.

Tonight, as we stand by to protect those enjoying the Truck and Tractor Pulls, we’re reminded that serving this community is both a privilege and a way to give back to the people who believed in us from the very beginning.

If you’re out at the fair, stop by and say hello! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening, and we thank each of you for your continued support of the Nelson Creek Fire Department.

A huge THANK YOU to the Felix Martin, Jr. Foundation for helping us serve our communities better.

Nelson Creek Fire Department would like to give a huge thank you to Justo Manufacturing for their quick response and excellent work on one of our fire trucks. We recently discovered a leaking pump manifold, and within just a couple days of notification, they were on site and had the repair completed professionally and efficiently.

Having dependable local businesses that support emergency services is extremely important, and this is a perfect example of why supporting local businesses matters. Their timely service helped us get our apparatus back in service quickly so we can continue serving our community.

Thank you again to Justo Manufacturing for the outstanding service and support of the fire service.

The Nelson Creek Volunteer Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of our chief's father, who departed on Wednesday. We respectfully request that you keep the family in your prayers during this challenging time. We take comfort in knowing that Al was a devoted follower of Jesus and is now in his eternal rest.
