⏰ CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS — CHECK YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS ⏰

As we set our clocks ahead for Daylight Saving Time, the Central Islip Fire Department reminds everyone to take a minute to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms.

Working smoke detectors save lives by giving you and your family the early warning needed to escape a fire safely.

✅ Replace batteries in all smoke detectors
✅ Test each alarm in your home
✅ Make sure there is a detector on every level and near sleeping areas

This quick step can make a life-saving difference.

The Central Islip Fire Department along with multiple mutual aid companies are currently battling a Commercial Structure fire at 250 Creative Drive. The fire has been placed under control and overhaul operations are in progress.

🚒❄️ Please Clear Fire Hydrants ❄️🚒

If there’s a fire hydrant near your home, take a few minutes to clear the snow and ice around it. In an emergency, firefighters depend on quick access to hydrants to supply water — and every second counts.

✔️ Clear at least 3 feet around the hydrant
✔️ Clear a path to the street
✔️ Remove any snow and ice blocking caps and outlets

This morning, the Central Islip Fire Department responded to and quickly brought a residential fire under control. Due to the rapid response, coordinated operations, and professionalism of all members on scene, the incident was contained efficiently and further damage was minimized.

Today, the Central Islip Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire, braving freezing temperatures. Crews made a quick stop on the fire with the help of our neighboring mutual aid departments. Great work by all involved.

This afternoon the Central Islip Fire Department operated at a working residential fire in extreme cold and icy conditions. Crews worked quick to bring the fire under control.
