Tonight, Veterans and First Responders from across Cherokee and Etowah Counties gathered for a Honoring our Hero’s banquet presented by the Alabama Sports Foundation honoring the 250th anniversary of America. This event was sponsored by Cherokee County Rescue Service, Cherokee County EMA, Alabama Association of Rescue Squads and Cherokee Co. Chamber of Commerce. We would like to thank everyone that attended. Special thanks to Senator Andrew Jones, State Representative Ginny Shaver along with the Cherokee Co. Commission and City of Centre Council and Mayor. Representative Shaver presented a Governors proclamation to Gerald Rieger for 50 years of service to the rescue squad.
