Pool Opening- Registration Instructions

The Sully Station Pool will be opening on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 12PM. This pool season will be very different than past pool seasons at Sully Station and you are strongly encouraged to thoroughly read this email. Some highlights of the changes this season:

Everyone (even if you already turned in a pool form) will need to register online (link below) to use the pool. This process requires manual verification so you will not be able to immediately sign up to use the pool after registration.
You will need to register for a time to use the pool in advance.
No furniture will be provided on the pool deck. You are free to bring your own furniture.
You must bring all the drinking water you need during your time slot.
Temperatures will be checked upon admission and you must wear a mask during check in.

Renters: you will need to provide a copy of your lease to receive approval to use the pool. You may drop the copy off in the dropbox at the Community Center. Do this ASAP so you can start using the pool upon approval. Failure to provide a lease will just delay your approval.

We have made arrangements to approve registrants beginning on Thursday and also over this weekend. We will get approvals done as quickly as possible but we are trying to perform a process that usually occurs over two months in essentially days so please be patient. Be sure to provide accurate emails and phone numbers so we can contact you if we have a question about your online registration.

Please go to http://sullystation.org/Pool/ to register for the pool.

Dear Sully Station Resident:

After a comprehensive review of the Virginia Governor’s Phase Plan for reopening and the related regulations/guidance and consulting with the Association’s attorney, all outdoor recreation facilities are closed until further notice. This includes the Basketball Courts, Tot Lots, and Tennis Courts. As we can only secure the Tennis Courts, we respectfully request that all members and their guests honor the closure of the Tot Lots and Basketball Courts. All affected outdoor recreation facilities will be posted as closed as soon as possible but the closure is in effect immediately.

If you do not honor the closure then you place yourself and family at risk of Covid-19, which may result in serious illness or death. The Association does not wish for you to assume this risk.

At this time you may continue to use the trails in and around Sully Station if you observe social distancing. If you are unable to maintain social distancing then you must wear appropriate protective equipment to use our trails.

Thank you for you understanding and cooperation.

At this time we would like to update you on the current situation.

Please note the following:

The Sully Station Community Center is closed indefinitely. We are not accepting any rental reservations for the community center or pool.
The Sully Station Pool is closed indefinitely. The pool will not be open during phase zero (the phase we are in now) or phase one. This will be revisited during phase two but community members need to be prepared for the possibility that the pool will not open at all this summer.

Instructions to attend Virtual Meetings of the
Board of Trustees of the Sully Station Community Association
AND
Notice of a Regular Meeting on April 8, 2020 at 7PM

As you may be aware the regular meetings of the Board of Trustees previously scheduled for April 8, 2020, May 13, 2020, and June 10, 2020 will be held virtually. There will not be an option to attend the meeting in person. If you wish to attend the meeting, you must register with Zoom.us and download the software applicable to the system you will be using. This will require email verification and some configuration so we recommend that you setup and confirm everything is running correctly on your system as soon as possible and certainly well ahead of the meeting. Zoom.us and YouTube have ample tutorials on how to setup and attend a video conference using Zoom so we recommend those as your first stop if you have problems configuring your software and successfully attending a meeting. Alternately, there will be an option to dial into the meeting using your telephone.
To virtually attend or to dial into the regular meeting on April 8, 2020 at 7PM please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Request for invitation to the April 8th meeting” and please include your address in the body of the email. To ensure a timely response please send your request email no later than 24 hours before the meeting.
The link to the actual meetings on May 13, 2020, and June 10, 2020 at 7PM (or a method to obtain an invitation if the site is public) will be provided after this meeting via our usual distribution methods (email list, Facebook, and webpage www.sullystation.org ).
Thank you for your cooperation,

The Republic Services team remains committed to you throughout this crisis. We appreciate your business and wish you all the best during this difficult time.

Dear Sully Station Residents,

The board, in consultation with the association manager, attorney, and other business partners, has been planning for contingencies that may arise in the community as a result of the spread of COVID-19.

Based on advice that has been circulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local governments we are giving notice that tot lots pose a risk of exposure to COVID-19:

Please use tot lots at your own risk

It is incumbent upon residents to take this situation seriously and do their part to minimize the spread of this deadly disease. The association highly encourages you to review safety guidelines and look for updates from the CDC, the local health department, and the World Health Organization.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Stay safe and healthy

LEAF REMOVAL INFO FROM SHENANDOAH LANDSCAPE

As we enter the final months of the landscape maintenance season, we are in the process of scheduling and completing leaf removal services.

Scheduling leaf removal is almost entirely dependent upon weather past, present and future. The typical breezes and rain in the coming months will help with leaf drop this Fall, but of course too much rain will slow our leaf collection process, as will excessive wind. Because of these factors, it is nearly impossible to accurately predict scheduled leaf removal for our clients. We generally try to plan a week-at-a-time based upon the rate of leaf drop at each of the properties under contract and the number of visits for which each client has contracted. We can usually advise clients when they are approximately one week from being scheduled.

During leaf removal operations, crews will blow leaves into piles in the streets/parking areas. These piles are removed by vacuum truck. We understand that this occasionally creates an inconvenience to residents while we are working on site. Our crews make every effort to avoid leaving dust and leaves on parked vehicles however, residents specifically concerned about their vehicles should plan to move them during the time we are working in their community.
While our workers try to be mindful of activity around them while they are working, please use extra care when walking or driving near our equipment. We would also like to ask that children be kept away from the trucks, equipment and leaf piles.

Girl Scout Nations Capital Service Unit 54-5 held a Summer Restock Food Drive for WFCM's Food Pantry last weekend and collected 3,626.82 pounds of food and $120 in cash! Rebecca McGonigle, Jamie Betzner, and Jennifer McNerney, troop leaders, mobilized 40 troops serving over 500 girl scouts in a multi-neighborhood food drive in Sully Station, Sequoia Farms, Belle Pond, and Braddock Ridge. The leaders said, "Summer is a lean time for WFCM's food pantry and we have teamed up to help solve the problem with a community food drive." With the primary mission of empowering girls with service and leadership opportunities, the girl scouts distributed bags with fliers of "most needed food" for the pantry to almost 2,000 homes! The following weekend, they canvassed the neighborhood picking up food then took it to Sully Station Community Center to weigh, sort, and mark. In the afternoon, older scouts unloaded food at the pantry and stocked shelves. Jamie Betzner, one of the leaders, said "The week prior, there was one can of spaghetti sauce, now because of this food drive, the shelf is full." WFCM is grateful to be a recipient of their hard work and willing hearts and hands. Thank you to the 500 girl scouts who served and made a difference to the 400 families that use our food pantry each month. Thank you to our very generous neighbors who donated food and personal care items. Thank you to everyone who helped in this effort: Wegmans for donating bags for the effort, Spencer Marker Realty for the use of the moving truck, Sully Station Community for the clubhouse as sorting site (on a very rainy day), and Sully District Supervisor Kathy Smith for supporting the Girl Scouts, WFCM volunteers Barry, John, and Sandy, and the many parent volunteers who supported their girl scout! #neighborshelpingneighbors #girlscouts #differencemaker

So tired of trying to use our pool, the swim team always seems to have use of it over everyone else. Think I will subtract pool membership from our HOA dues. I say let the swim team pay for the pool. Now I am off to find a house I can buy that has it's own pool.
