Set up and ready for Ag Day at the Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park!

Today middle school students are learning about farming and careers connected to it, and I’m here representing the QAC Volunteer Fire & EMS Commission.

One of the big questions I get is, “What does the fire department have to do with ag?”
The answer: more than you think. From farm equipment accidents and barn fires to field/brush fires during harvest, we play a role in keeping our farming community safe.

I also brought our grain bin rescue wall to show how we train for grain bin emergencies, something many don’t realize is a real hazard in agriculture.

Looking forward to a great day connecting with the kids and sharing what we do!

Love seeing all those fire hats. Today’s smiles could be tomorrow’s volunteers!

We had a great time today attending the JA Empowerment event for the five counties on the Shore!

It was such a great opportunity to connect with high school juniors and seniors and share what it means to become a volunteer firefighter or EMT. From hands-on experiences to real conversations, we loved being able to show them the many ways they can serve their community.

Queen Anne’s County was proud to be there alongside Talbot County, with representation from both Talbot and Queen Anne’s Emergency Services.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our tables, asked questions, and showed interest, we hope to see some of you in turnout gear one day! ❤️🚒
