Please encourage family and friends to like the page so that they can see the updates as well. I know there is still some time before the election, but it’s important to get things started early. I will be running against a two-term incumbent sheriff so I will be counting on all of you to help out. I have been really encouraged by all of the positive support I have received. I truly believe that t

he citizens of Stanislaus County are ready for a positive change. I will keep everyone updated about what is going on so please check back often.

To my family and friends,

I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement as I ran for the office of Sheriff. Going into this election cycle, I had every intention of continuing the journey that I started four years ago by running again in the 2018 election.

In September of 2017, I began putting things in motion to kick off the 2018 campaign. In November, the Stanislaus Sworn Deputies Association (SSDA) held a forum for the candidates which was followed up by an endorsement vote. All three of us candidates work at the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

I felt very strongly that the employees of the Sheriff’s Office were the only endorsement that really mattered. They have worked with all three of us and would know who was best equipped and prepared to lead this department.

I felt so strongly about this that I publicly stated that if I did not get the endorsement of the SSDA, I would remove myself as a candidate for the office of Sheriff. The employees voted, and they overwhelmingly chose to endorse Jeff Dirkse for Sheriff. Their endorsement was strengthened by the support of the Modesto Police Officers Association (MPOA), the Ceres Police Officers Association (CPOA), the Sheriff’s Sergeants Association and Sheriff’s Management Association who all endorsed Jeff Dirkse for Sheriff.

As I publicly stated, I have removed myself from consideration as a candidate for Sheriff and I am also standing behind our local law enforcement associations in support of Jeff Dirkse.

I would ask that all of you who believed in me and supported me in the last election will put your support behind our local law enforcement and also support Jeff Dirkse for Sheriff in the upcoming election.

Thank you for all of your support,

Tom

I had an amazing evening celebrating with so many family and friends last night. I am honored and blessed for all of the support I received from so many of you.
Although the election didn't turn out the way we had hoped, this has been an experience that I will never forget.
We ran our campaign with honor and integrity, and we fought the good fight to the very end.
While there is a little disappointment, I am so very proud of all that we did accomplish.
During the course of the campaign, I raised several issues that I wanted to address as sheriff.
I wanted to re-open our local police academy training center. I wanted to focus on recruitment and retention. I wanted to shorten the wait time for those waiting to get their CCWs.
In the past few months, Sheriff Christianson has taken steps to begin re-opening our academy. He has started up a recruitment team within our department that will go to job fairs, colleges, and military veterans to fill our vacancies.
He has also begun to address some of the issues causing delays in the CCW process.
While I certainly cannot take credit for these positive steps forward, I do feel that being involved in the campaign may have helped to speed up the process to getting these issues addressed.
It has been an honor to have the support of so many of you and I stand behind my commitment to all of you to continue to work to make our sheriffs office the best that it can be.
I may not be the sheriff, but I can still strive to affect positive change for our department and our county in whatever capacity that I serve.
I want to thank you all for your kindness and your support. It is all of you that have made this an experience that I will never forget. May God bless you all.
